Attachment 3220 Always lots of rainbows this time of the year in Negril.
Attachment 3221Attachment 3222 Thunderstorms during lunch at Sheritas (Seawind)
Attachment 3223 Late night back at Rhodes Hall, just figuring out this picture thing, more to come.
Attachment 3224 Missed this guy the last few trips, so this was on a tuesday and got my order in for a painting, so Karl tells me he needs to go to Mobay to get supplies so I give him half the money up front. My son says how is he going to find us as he says he will have it ready on thursday around five o'clock.
Karl on hell of a guy!!!
Attachment 3225 So on thursday we decide to go to LTU for lunch and just before we head out Jaret asks me what about the money you gave for the painting, I tell him I am not worried. We head up to LTU and we are the only ones there as it is at most places after the ATI crowd clears out. As I am sitting there I see a familliar face heading up the westend road. Karl spots us as he is passing stops in to tell me he has bad news, and I believed him as it was only a few days before when he told me he would have to get to Mobay for canvas for the painting.Turns out after he convinces me he could not finish the painting in time, he starts to laugh and pulls out his work. I will get a picture of it when I get it back from framing.
More to come later.
No......NOW!!!
Laura and I have thought about Rhodes Hall. What are the pluses and minuses??
Loved the Karl picture! Look forward to seeing your painting...
Keep it coming...
papamark-We stayed at Rhodes for 6 days on July 4-10.I have no minuses at all!!All plus in our book:)-We felt like the whole resort was to ourselves. Our kids are 8 and 10.Time of our lives there. The Bayview restraunt is a must!!-Horseback riding a must!!!Its a very very clean place felt like home.Yea,its about 15 minties from Negril. But Wanye the driver that is there can take you into town or where ever you need or want to go.Very clean car and nice mon!!!-He took us to Bamboo Lane and then we ate in Black River at a local restraunt. The place is the best for our needs:cool:-I have pics on my FB acct.-If you would like to look at.Oh yea the snorkling is awesome!!!We snorkeled every day about 6-8 hours a day-They have a protected reeef there.
Why are all the pics showing up as thumbnails? Logged in and okay on other posts??
Dana - if you are logged in just click on the pics to see the full size photos!
Thanks for the info Vince. I have snorkled there on a couple of day trips and that is a big draw for me. I was wondering about getting around. Sounds like that is not an issue. Sure do like the quiet and idea of having the place almost to yourselves.
Great photos, can't wait to see what Karl made for you folks, he is such an awesome guy!! Great spirit and oh so much talent!!
Peace,
Islander - Brynn
Poolguy,
Thanks for sharing...
Nice to see Karl Ricketts smiling!
Ok back from camping, in northern Michigan (no wifi) time to continue. I was not sure about staying at Rhodes Hall but I would agree it was all good, and Wayne is great to have around, we would just call him when we got through the ATI traffic and he was there to get us. I would stay there again with the kids nice pool snorkling and horse back riding. The food at the Bayview was very good too.
Attachment 3306 Speaking of the Bayview here is a shot from there, this was saturday time to grab a bite before we head in to Negril.
Attachment 3307Attachment 3308 A quick stop at Alfred,s for a beer and on to the regular stops of cours Canoe being one of those.
Attachment 3309 After many stops along the way we did make it to Seastar, was not very busy and there was a weddding finishing up when we got there. We were also getting tired as it was our first day after an early morning flight. So we hopped in the Seastar shuttle with Henry (oh yeah the buffet was great as usual) we had him take us as far until the traffic was backing up which was near Coco Lapalm, we were in the middle of ATI crazy party time would have liked to take pictures but never seems appropriate to take pictures of drunk partiers that you dont know. It was packed on the road all the way to Hedonism! Where Wayne was waiting for us to take us back.
Attachment 3336 You cant really see whats going on here but there is actually a car in a tree! On the way back to Rhodes Hall on sunday night the traffic was backed up at the first big curve past the RIU,s. Police and road blocked up and there was a green Honda a good twenty feet up tangled in the branches, took out the power line pole and all. We found out later there was a pile of rock under the tree which was probably the only thing that stopped it from landing in the sea.
Attachment 3371 Movin on up to the Westend we finally got a piece of the pie! Sorry about the Jeffersons reference anyway up to Catcha we go.
Attachment 3445Attachment 3446 So we are now back in the westend I stayed at Catcha I think three years ago with my son then too. The staff here is hard to beat . We had met a family from Boston at the airport when we arrived that was staying here and Seeking the sun was also here when we got in.
This was tuesday and we decide to hit the webcast at 3dives and talk Seekingthesun in to coming along.
Attachment 3447 So for some stupid reason never took any pictures at 3 Dives and we went up to Canoe after too. I have already at this time started recruiting every one at Catcha for the One love shuttle bar crawl for wednesday!
Yyyyyeeeeyyy for poolguy the recruiter!
Attachment 3553 Wednesday its pub crawl day on the One Love Shuttle! This is my kinda fun afternoon of cold beer and laughs riding up the cliffs in a billboard buss! First stop Corner bar (seaview). The family from Boston decide to join us and although they were a little unsure of the idea of being out on the road they started to relax after a couple drinks.
Attachment 3554 When you see this bus pull up you know your going to have some fun!
Attachment 3555 Lembart, the one love shuttle driver.
Attachment 3556 The last picture was at a little place across from Canoe not sure the name, then on to Miyard ,believe it or not I have never been there. I have walked by about a million times and never stopped. OK so now that I get to Miyard have to try the famous egg sandwich! It was good and I bet its even better in the middle of the night when its the only place to get food. I forgot that Diane had joined us, she lives in Negril and I always kind of pick on her and give her a hard time, but just for fun.lol
Attachment 3557Attachment 3558 More Miyard shots.
Attachment 3559Attachment 3560 Next stop C&D to visit Connie(Dawn) not sure what is right but when you ask her she says they are both her name so I am confused but just call her Connie, she had some fresh bred pudding cake stuff, not sure exactly what it was but it was good! The only thing about this place is it plays country music (not my thing, but I love this place and she will put on some reggae if I whine enough.lol) After almost being beat to death the frist time I stopped in its now one of my must get to places.
Attachment 3561Attachment 3562 Next stop No Limit, No Limit!
Attachment 3563Attachment 3564Attachment 3565 No Limit is a cool tight space bar, domino game on the road most nights. For any one not sure where it is its across from Peewees which is next to Moonlight Villas, which is next to Blue Cave Castle. Going the other way its next to L&M wholesale, other wise known as Lances.
Attachment 3566Attachment 3567 As you can see above there was a stop at Seastar as well, what was I thinking having Alvin mix up margaritas at happy hour! That was a mistake after beer all afternoon. Only took one picture there? Now we are on to the last stop, Sir D,s,Firewater. This was a favourite of mine in past trips, but I am not feeling it now ( thats just me though) it still has a great view. There is something giving it a creepy feeling now.lol
Attachment 3571Attachment 3572 The bus gave us a ride where ever we wanted when the crawl was over so Jaret and me decided it was time for some of Eddie,s jerk chicken at Debar. They have a new watch dog!
