I can pickup a digicel sim in Negril? I'll have to check, I think my old iPhone 4s has been unlocked; that would be ok to use with their sim?

Yes you get a sim in Negril at the Digicel store. Bring your ID/passport. If the full size sim won't fit, they will be able to cut it for you.
