Linston picked me up from The Westender Inn.
Right on time, to the minute.
"hey, after we drop my friend off, how about checking out Zion Hill.
"You got time" Linston said,
Sure I do.
So, not too far from where I was staying, we made a left off of the main road
It was a cool drive. Through the awesome countryside,
through a field of Sugar cane.
Then the road went up, up and away!
We ended up driving down a road and pulled over.
Linston started pointing out all of his crops, veggies and fruit trees
that he is growing on his land.
Nice and Organic, all natural he said.
Then I saw it.
A house up on a hill.
A nice new looking Board house.
Oh, this must be Captain D's spot.
"Yeah Mon, he's not here now" Linston told me.
I got out the car and
Holy Mackerel!! The view!!
Man I could see forever that high up!
So high up you get a 360 degree view, nothing in the way.
A long ways off are some low mountains.
That is west, we get great sunsets here.
Sweet, the view was spectacular.
We walked up some more steps, built right into the side of the hill.
He showed me another house in the making up on the hill.
"This one will be a 1 bedroom with Kitchen and bath and
a 2 bedroom with a kitchen and bath over there, he pointed out.
Nice, nice.
Man, if you have all your supplies with you, there is no need to leave that high mountain top.
The breeze was excellent.
After a while, I asked about the Mineral Bath.
Yeah Mon, it is always flowing.
We hopped in the Jeep and went down a lonely little bush like path.
Soon, we were deep in the countryside.
Tall trees all around us.
We parked and I saw a long cement trough like water way
running down the hill.
Back in the day, there use to be a Lime plantation,
and they used the water to turn those big wheels,
for smashing the fruit for juice.
One of Linston's workmen was standing by, waiting for us.
Linston had stopped at a hardware store to get an elbow like PVC joint for his pipes.
We walked up to the pool of water coming out the side of a hill.
Man, it was about 10'x 8' and about 2-3 feet deep.
The water flowed in and sat on top of big underground rocks.
Then it flowed into the cement trough.
Linston had PVC pipes leading all the way down the hill to
a gravity like driven pump that supply's his properties.
What ingenuity, what a great use of natures wonderful water.
Running through the limestone and volcanic rock,
it comes out naturally filtered and cool to the touch.
Picking up minerals as it travels.
I bet a cool bath, right there would be wonderful.
