Yes,
thanks to CaptD and the rest of yall.

I will go back and sit a spell and have a cocktail or 2.


It was just as I described, not too big, kinda dark and secluded.

But, that can be a good thing.
I wish I had been with someone,
and sat down a while.


90% of the time I go to Jamaica alone.

I did not know that place existed, even though I must have
passed the entrance many times.
I thought there were just rooms to rent.

Seeing it at night, in the dark, by myself made my imagination run wild.

Please forgive me for casting a dark shadow on what
is a decent little place to relax, rent a room or have a cocktail.

I gave no names, no locations on purpose.
I did not want to scandalize anyone's business.

My first impressions are not always correct,
that is why one must never assume.

I do try make the story /my adventures seem more lively, I guess.

So, I will endeavor on my return
to check out the bar there and have a sit down and a smoke.

to be honest, i had the same first impression when me wife and I were taken there...we did not stay for a drink either...i walked by many times afterwards and did not feel the need to stop in, still a little shady, was my opinion...one day we were introduced to barry by John and Bettye, long timers that stay at bar b barn...we felt welcome ever since then...one of our crew stayed their during this last reach...he may have been the guy on the porch....keep up the reports, please...great to meet you at the bash

Here's my journal from our visit in 2010 after 24 years:

First stop was Barry from Miss Gloria’s yard……..

Nice place used to a part of the yard and Miss Gloria left it three of them so Barry has the middle part of the yard…winding paths through the rooms…a small inner courtyard ..some tables and about 6 guys sittin' around....
I ask is Barry here?...one guy points to the guy sitting next to where I'm standing (what does this white boy want?)

I turn around he stands up ...my gawd it just the same he looks like him and he says I look like..."Man you look just the same".....we do a manly hug and start chattin' in patois..memories..who's dead..who's still here..who went foreign...nice visit..

He was really happy to see Miss G...you used to help him with school..........

...Now the other guys really can't figure what is going on..he introduces me and Miss G ...we say "more time"
