    Need advice for first visit!

We are getting ready to celebrate our 30th anniversary (arriving MBJ 09FEB12 for six nights), and have been researching places to stay. We'd like to find a nice private beachfront villa, but so far the ones we have found around Negril are part of a resort wedged in next to dozens of other 'villas', or ones that are staffed from 9 to 5. We are fairly private people, so the thoughts of having live-in staff, butlers, and cooks doesn't really appeal to us. We want a villa for privacy, not to share with a housekeeper, butler, maid, driver, gardener and pool man.

At first I thought, no problem- I'll just send the staff home for the week and give them a nice tip anyway, But then I read reviews that indicate that many of the managers won't allow that, insisting they come every day no matter what you want. We don't want a handful of people hanging around the villa waiting on us. If we wanted that, we could stay at any one of a dozen AI resorts. Instead, we just want a place we can sleep as late as we want, cook our own light breakfast whenever we stumble out of bed, walk to the beach whenever we feel like it without having someone staying with us from 9 to 5 every day.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

What a tough problem to have...lol.

You may want to look at this:

I am going to stay there on my next reach, I HOPE. I think the staff comes to cook...and clean...on demand.

Thanks! That type of place is what we have been looking for- a private villa set apart from the next place. I have written asking about availability, so hopefully they will have an opening!

Here's another suggestion (never stayed there, but it is on my wish list).

    Villa Du Soleil, Treasure Beach

Sadly, Rainbow Tree Villas didn't have availability for our dates.

BCBud, thanks for the additional lead! Have sent them an inquiry.

Rambo, thanks for the suggestion, but with all respect the Negril Beach Club just isn't what we are looking for. We want far more seclusion than that.

I got it -- try the Westender Inn .... It's technically a hotel but has cottages and is very small, usually fewer than a dozen guests ..... It's amazingly nice, great feel of seclusion (nothing much around for a few miles), and it's got a natural ocean jacuzzi built into the rocks against the shore. Nice place.

Villa du Soleil is amazing but this and Rainbow Tree are not in Negril, but in Treasure Beach...about 1-1/2 hrs from Negril. Treasure Beach is great but very different from Negril and not the same white powdery beaches.

I am not sure if this place is still available as a rental or not Bnewb probably will know.

There are not really a lotof (if any) stand alone villa rentals on the beach.

The owners villa at Nirvana may fit your needs:

If you do want to stay in Negil on the beach, Crystal Waters might be a fit.
