I'm not buying no stranger a drink

"Buy me a drink" he said.

    Huh???............What???
(I understood him the first time, but I wanted him to see my crazy eyes!!)

"A drink mon......... buy me a drink."
    Oh, no, no, no,no.

    I don't buy hard legs a drink.
"huh....what is hard legs??" he said.
Then I hit my 2 thighs hard with my hands.
    "HARD LEGS.... MEN"

    I don't know you.
Why must I spend money on you when
    All these kids need/want money?
    You mad?

If I'm out with pals, buddies, friends, sure, I'll pop for cocktails or beers.
But, walking down the street, or standing on the beach??
    For a stranger??
After I told him I don't want any of his "products".

    Not a chance in H---.

Just because you were born here and I am a Tourist?
    I don't think so.
I would not do it at home, in Chicago.

My kids are here and they need school fees to be paid.
    Who gonna pay them??...... You??
My kids eat a lot and they're' still growing!
Man, you trying to take food out my kids mouth?

I have a million and one reasons.
And I don't hesitate to tell some
drunken, stumble bum,.........that I have never seen before......
why I am not gonna buy him Jack.

Just imagine, me in a conversation with some "man" about
why I will not buy him alcohol.

    I'm not gonna run away.
If I was standing in place, I will keep standing in that place.
If I'm walking, he better start walking with me
    and listen.

I have made life long friends on the beach for the cost of a Red Stripe or hot Guinness. But not if they beg.
Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him. KJV Psalm 68:4

If they will sit awhile and share a little about their life we will gladly buy them a drink. Met some real characters on the beach and they always stop to say high when we see them again.

    That's wonderful Irine, :-)
    Live and learn.

Just like RasWalleye says, "not the beggars"
I feel kinda sorry for them and Alcohol is not the solution.
But, don't mince words, stick with your gut feelings.

Last year I bought the entire bar at Kuyaba a round. Oy vey. Way too much rum and sun that day. LOL!!! My tab still was nothing compared to a night out at home for two!!!!

Playing dominos at Tony’s bar for drinks is one of my favorite ways to get to know some of the locals, and empty my pockets! We’d run there during afternoon showers in the summer, as would some of the domino sharks....... I mean beach vendors. Many good memories there
