How do we know whether it will work in Jamaica with Digicell

The Samsung S6 should work here - it is a GSM phone.

Double check the modiel is "Compatible with GSM networks such as AT&T, T-Mobile and certain regional carriers in the U.S. Compatible bands include: LTE 2, 4, 12; LTE Roaming 1, 3, 5, 7, 17, 20; UMTS 1, 2, 4, 5; GSM Quad Band 800, 900, 1800, 1900."

Won't work if it's a CDMA phone that doesn't use a Sim card....
Usually Sprint carrier phones don't work in Jamaica....
Unlocked AT&T and TMobile phones will work in Jamaica....
Verizon S6'S and below are already unlocked ...
just enter web.digiceljamaica.com for the Access Point Name so the data works...
FYI - most locals consider the Digicel phones which are made by Alcatel to be a waste of money cause of poor durability...

As a local, I have had two Digicel brand phones, for the past 7 years. Apparently Alcatel makes phones that are durable enough... LOL!
