State of emergency ? Friends in jail ?

we also have a friend who we know has been in trouble in the past taken out of his bed and now in Negril jail. It seems they are just rounding up people who could be trouble and keeping in jail anyone know what’s going on ?

The only thing I notice is, when driving around, there are military checkpoints at a couple points where you have to roll down your windows and turn on your interior lights and soldiers with machine guns look in and then wave you through. Like one of those war-torn African countries. Seems pointless to me. To me it feels like they are putting on a display to make it look like something is being done.
