The reality is that the virus is already here and quarantining a returning US Citizen for 14 days really only makes good sense if they have recently been in a country where the virus is wide spread. Better use of the quarantine would be doing it here in the US for actual and suspected cases instead of needlessly plugging up the system. Of course, things could and probably would change and then it would be practical. Again. A Jetblue plane landed this morning in at Palm Beach International airport with a person infected with coronavirus and, as of yet, no word on all the passengers on THAT plane being quarantined.

"The rest of the passengers were released to go home" and given directions to call the health department with any medical concerns. Passengers who were near the infected person were given instructions on how to monitor their health over the next few days. They were allowed to leave the airport without seeing a doctor.
