We have reservations for August 30 through September 7. I’m hoping the resorts will be somewhat back to normal at that time

For what it's worth, Couples Resorts sent out an email yesterday stating Jamaica looks to reopen it's boarders on 1 July. We shall see.

In advertising and marketing, you never want to get caught flat footed. It does appear that Jamaica will most probably open it's borders on July 1st so that is when a business wants to start taking new bookings. If it gets pushed back then they just offer booked guests a later date or a refund. They would not want to open up bookings any later than the expected date of border openings.

The actual date is based on scientific calculations and the management of risk. Jamaica will or should have the problem contained by July 1st but every visitor coming in after they reopen is a risk to the island population but they will do their best to mitigate and contain it should it occur.

    IMO
