    That is why the headline "Beaches, Rivers closing.....but not Negril" is confusing to me because the article says Norman Manley Beach and that is what we call Negril's 7-Mile Beach but the link talks about only a small section of it. Maybe Rob can clarify this.

    The Negril Beach is officially called Long Bay Beach, not to be confused with the Long Bay Beach Park near the Westmoreland/Hanover border. Norman Manley Beach Park is the area by the craft market and community centre and has been crowded at times with parties. This part would make sense to be closed.

    The pictures we have been posting of the beach shows a virtually empty beach. To close the entire beach is impractical because hotels have use of their sections of the beach.

    I have never heard the Negril Beach referred to as the Norman Manley Beach... the Seven Mile Beach, yes, but not Norman Manley Beach...
