If one would contract Covid while on the island, does anyone know if they can be evacuated back home via travel insurance, etc.?

The Jamaica Cares insurance that would have covered medical evacuation was announced in October to begin in November, but now they've gone silent about it.

Read your insurance policy very carefully. Allianz says on their Web site "Claims due to known, foreseeable, or expected events, epidemics, government prohibitions, warnings, or travel advisories, or fear of travel are generally not covered, and coverage can vary by state." Overall, the answer is very unlikely unless you are buying a relatively expensive policy that does specifically cover medical evacuation and does not exclude pandemics or things you've been warned about by the government.

    Flashman....definitely check your policies/insurance etc.
I'm not sure if you're Canadian or not but the Canadian airlines were offering "Covid" insurance with each return flight...check the fine print.

Thanks Lisa. I was stressing about having to go to MoBay for it and also paying the day before. This makes it so much easier and no expensive ride to MoBay. See you in March.

The new requirements say we need the test 72 hours before we travel. Could you ask if they can do it in that time please. Thanks.
