Don't you get it? Stay home. Give Jamaica a chance. You think this is bad? Just wait.

The Jamaican government is spending thousands of hours and money to get tourists here, be safe and have a wonderful time. The borders are open. They need to balance life vs. livelihood.

Visitors to Jamaica are not the problem. Yesterday the number of new imported cases (visitors - 5) was less than 1% of the total new cases (558). That is why the border closing was not even hinted at in the new Covid restrictions.

Its the other 99% that is the problem. Illegal parties have much to do with those numbers. Thus the heavy weekend curfew measures.

Not mentioned in the above is the new up to $500,000j fine for breaching the Covid measures. If a few of the illegal party promoters get dinged with that fine, it might prevent some others from staging future illegal parties.

I just spent a week in Negril and felt safer there than here in Minnesota. Masks, temp checks, and sanitizer everywhere. Book, pack, go. Just follow the protocols. They need the business now more than ever.

I agree with Ras. We just returned from a couple weeks ago. Book, pack and go. They need our business. Our last trip was the best we have had because the locals were so glad we were there.

Wondering if anyone's heard of any updates beyond 4/12 on curfew? Arriving soon and doing some head planning (daydreaming) for our first nights dinner.

Nothing yet.... wait until this evening at the earliest. Until the old 8pm curfew is in force.
