    Antigen test question

Apologies if this has been answered before, but we will be receiving our final vaccination shots on or about April 30th. We are planning on arrival in Negril on May 11th. Will this Antigen test we will be taking 72 hours prior show that we Have Covid? Anyone? Please give us some hope for a return trip.

    Re: Antigen test question

No you do not test positive after a vaccination. We had two people with our group in February that were vaccinated prior to their test. Our tests were PCR which I understand are more reliable than the Antigen. I’m sure there are vaccinated people in Negril right now that can verify. If you are still concerned check with your doctor or Health Department.

Our second vaccination was a little over 3 weeks prior to our covid test and we tested negative.

Unlike the Flu vaccine, the Covid vaccine doe NOT contain a dead virus strain. If you test positive after the antigen test it is because you picked up the virus somewhere, but not due to receiving the vaccine.

Does that mean that the antigen test is not totally reliable for travel purposes?
