Who else has never had a bug bite in Negril?

It's a bit odd. I have seen many who get bit like crazy, from sand fleas or mosquitos or, god forbid, bed bugs -- but I have never ever been bitten (well, maybe one or two mosquitos in all my trips).

Plus, most of my stays have been at RIU Club -- the bite capital of Negril.

How can we explain how some get bit like crazy while others never get bit at all?

Mosquito bites don't seem to bother me very much. If I resist scratching, they are usually gone in 30 minutes. Maybe this is why I don't remember being plagued by bugs in Negril. There are some bugs (40 legger etc.) there that if you are ever bitten by them, you will remember it.

Its turns out that even though we couldn't smell the chemicals on me the bugs could

I always end up with a few bites, mostly on my legs, from those nasty no-see-ums. Hubby never does, not here at home either. Maybe I'm just too sweet...

The only time I ever notice bites is if you are on the sand during sunset...then I can feel the sand fleas bite..but I know better and don't even get near the sand during that time of day. At night I always wear jeans or capri's when out and just spray my ankles with OFF and that seems to work as I never end up with bites.

Is it "never ever" or "maybe one or two Mosquitos in all my trips" Can't have it both ways.

I rarely get bit but even once is a long, long way from never ever.

Well, gotta say I have been bitten. However, almost always has occurred on the beach around sunset. Once I started staying pon da cliffs, bites almost non-existent!
