What are your favorite smaller west end bars/restaurants?
We love Negril but especially the west end of Negril (and Red Dragon in Red Ground). Years ago I proposed to my wife (to be) during an intimate dinner at Presley's. We missed Negril during Covid but we've been back every year since the pandemic subsided. We were wondering what bars and eateries we might be missing on the west end. When I say "west end", I mean everything from the corner bar to the west . . .
We'll be back in a couple weeks and we'd love to hear about your favorites in the cliffs (or any in of the flat land from the Corner bar on).
To get the ball rolling I'll say that the best pizza I've had, from Australia to Africa (going the long way around the globe), is at LTU. On my last visit I stopped there three times and had the chicken pizza every time - it's that good. I could go on but I'd love hear what other boardies think.
Thanks in advance for your comments,
Mickey

Mickey,
As mentioned, LTU is one of my favorite Cliff side destinations for drinking or eating. Luca runs a great establishment.
Seastar Inn - great restaurant and bar, 2 TV Screens for just about any sporting event.
Xtabi - great views, great restaurant.
Canoe - great views, great porch and excellent food and drinks.
Mi Yard - great local vibe and drinks.
As mentioned, Red Dragon - Ragga and Gordo run a great place, excellent local vibe and Sheba keeps the very cold red stripes flowing (and inexpensive). The Jerk pork is amazing, but don't get there too late or it will be gone!
Ivan's at Catcha Falling Star - great views, great food and drinks.
Meka's Rum Shots - nice bar just south of Negril Escape on the Westend Road.
Blingaz Chill Spot - next to Wise Choice near Seastar Lane.
And on and on and on.....
Enjoy,
VVHT aka Happy

Thanks Happy,
Your post proves great minds think alike (hoho).
Your quote on Red dragon is almost verbatim to what I say when I recommend the place to anyone.
Catcha is our home base when we're in town.
Blingaz was a new one to us but its so close we'll have to check it out.
Thanks again.

Shark's for sure. I also like Westender and is very reasonable especially for lunch. The pools on the cliffs are really nice while you wait for your food

Kool Vybes Bar and Jerk Centre (across the street from Tensing Pen). Food is excellent and freshly made and staff are welcoming and efficient. Do not miss out on the pineapple slaw!!
