    More Trip Report 2025

As I was in line getting ready to board the flight to Mobay I ended up meeting a couple from the small town from which my Negril.com name originates. I remembered him but hadn't seen him in many years as I used to date a relative of his. He and his wife were heading to Negril as well and would be staying at Rooms on the Beach. They are also visitors, if not members, of this board as the wife asked me whether I was Fisher Branch on Negril.com. Well, as everyone on this board likely knows, that is right beside Sunnyside, which is also 1 of my regular, daily stops. I ended up seeing them pretty much every day due to this coincidence, but also ran into them at Boat Bar on at least 1 day catching some of the afternoon entertainment. They were staying with another couple which I also knew but hadn't seen in a long time. Hello to Jim, Dinah, Tom and Rose Ann. It was great seeing all of you and perhaps we will meet in Negril again.

The weather during my 2 weeks was absolutely lovely. No 2/3 day storms bringing in a ton of seaweed this year which was nice. I missed walking the beach last year, so bonus there. Most days, some clouds would blow in, but for the most part they amounted to pretty much nothing, although the clouds were welcome during the mid afternoon if I was walking the beach or beach road as it made the walk a little easier without the sun beating down. Biggest rainfall was on the first Sunday, which caused a delay in the start of the Bluesfest at Drifters. Really cooled things down as it passed over, but the evening was absolutely beautiful afterwards. I just love waking up in the morning to sunny, blue skies. It is such a great way to start the day and mornings are almost always sunny in Negril. Might be 1 of the things I miss most when I return home.

In addition to my Fisher Branch friends, I also met up quite frequently with Skip and Ernie. Makes sense at they frequent many of the same places I do. Either pass by them on the beach or at Sunnyside/Sun Beach/Drifters. Hadn't spoken to them in the past as much as I did on this trip. Very interesting characters, to say the least. Turns out Skip, who is from somewhere in Minnesota and is a motorcycle enthusiast, knows a few people and spends some time in Winnipeg. Who knows, maybe I'll run into him since I now know 1 of the local watering holes he frequents while in town. Like I said, interesting character. A lot of fun to shoot the **** with. Another person I saw on a regular basis was Big John. What a super person! Really enjoy hanging out with him under the almond tree and listening to him interact with the people coming by, some of whom are regulars and know him well, others who have never met him but end up stopping for a cold water or beer or a brownie. There was a lady next to him who was selling key lime and I believe coconut custard pie. I had a piece of the key lime one day. Absolutely delicious little snack!! All right, pic time.

Had a banana milkshake, a 1 scoop vanilla wafflecone (can't imagine what 2 scoops would be like), and a small chocolate cup at Patsy's. Delicious!!

Nothing like an old fashioned trip report. Always interesting. We also love the food at Pablo's and Chicken Lavish. How about a few more pix?

    Regards,
    Bob
