We will be arriving on March 13th and staying at the Riu Negril as our Daughter is getting married there on the 22nd, We are a Party of 20 two of whom will be babies ie 5 and 7 months, can anyone tell me if there there any Shops or Supermarkets nearby that sell disposable nappies and baby food.

Hi all again, sorry to be a pain but 92 hits and no answers, we really don't want to be filling suitcases with nappies and jars of baby food and would rather buy them over there, can anyone tell us if there is anywhere in Negril we can but these items , it would be so appreciated.

You have a choice of the larger stores in Negril...Value Master, Hi Lo or Quality Traders.
Or, you can stock up on the way from the airport at the Mega Mart in Montego Bay...larger selection.
Get your Ride to stop at MEGA Mart in Mo Bay - It is on the way to the Negril Road and they would have the best selection of Baby type stuff. It is sort of like a Jamaican Costco without a membership card.
I was just there a couple of weeks ago and there was a good selection of nappies at hilo in negril.

I'm guessing that the Rui picks you up at the airport and takes you directly to the resort. Somebody will have to take a taxi to one of the stores in Negril to shop. Route taxi's are cheap. You'll pay considerebly more for a regular taxi. Browse the board for how to use the route taxis.
We're all in this together and none of us is getting out alive.
FYI...RIU is located when you first enter Negril proper....the grocery store (Hi-Lo) is abit of distance away from you....at the other end of 7 mile beach. Suggest you prepare to "stock up" when you go, so you don't have to spend your holiday going back and forth. If you are paying a taxi fare to go, it could get costly for you. There is a good selection of baby needs there.
