I got the same price for my May 28th trip (booked in March)--Newark is not my preferred airport, but considering that Air Jamaica and Jet Blue out of Kennedy were 100-200 more I went with Continental. I am hoping to use frequent flyer miles for my next trip!
Got it and passed the word to the Mad Piper of Vermont.
Newark is the airport I now prefer, since a park and fly is so inexpensive, and the access to and from is so much better than JFK!
