Two completely different types of property. CCLP is more "resort-like". Nice big beach area, good restaurant, up-to-date rooms. We prefer White Sands. It has what we need - clean rooms, incredible staff, one of the best bars on 7 Mile and a diner for breakfast and lunch. The absolute best thing about White Sands is that you are not another nameless tourist. You feel like you belong.

i've stayed at white sands, not too impressive.
if you can afford CCLP, go with CCLP, you won't be disappointed.
merrils is a good option too (probably priced in-between white sands and CCLP)
