Wink ?'s about Discovery Falls, Half Moon Beach, & Steven's Aqua Nature Park

    Hi Everyone!!!

    Few questions bout those parks.

Discovery Falls~~~ Days and hours of operation? I know there is a phone number but won't call until I get there and trying to get an idea of things we want to do and it's not listed on their site. Oh also has anyone done the zip line there and how was it?

Half Moon Beach~~Is there and entrance fee to get it and if so how much? Are there chairs or should we plan to lay on our towels?

Stevens~~ Is there an entrance fee here and the cost please if so. Are food and drinks available here or should we bring our own?

Ok and lastly...are any of these near each other if we wanted to do a couple in the same day or should we plan for them seperately?? I know they are all about 15-20 minutes away from Negril but not sure about in what direction.

Thanks everyone!!! (11 days woot woot!!!)

    Regarding Half Moon Beach:

If you are going to buy drinks or food from the bar/restaurant, there is not an entrance fee. Otherwise, I think there is a small fee per person. There are some lounge chairs with cushions and some hammocks. If you plan your trip for a time when the Wild Thing is not there, I can't imagine you would have trouble staking out a spot. Love Half Moon Beach, Andrew is a fantastic host! I can't wait to go back!

Half Moon Beach is just past Rhodes Hall--about 15 minutes or so from Negril. No entrance fee, but please buy drinks/food while there. I just went a few weeks ago and had a really nice afternoon there--snapper sandwich and cold red stripe to fortify me. Loungers w/cushions are on the beach. When I went there was no one else on the beach but a few people eating lunch there. It is a really sweet spot.

Half Moon Beach is more of a "drop your towel" kind of place. There are a few hammocks, benches and loungers. Even when a boat is in you shouldn't have a problem copping a nice and secluded spot - the beach is quite large.

As far as Steve's I don't remember paying an entrance fee (but we bought food and drinks there). I haven't been in about 4 years, I do need to get back. As far as proximity - each "thing" is kind of a trip on its own. HMB is only 10 minutes outside of Negril. Discovery Falls (I went there last visit, eh, wasn't all that impressed) is out in the Morass area about 20 minutes from Negril so you could conceivably go there and HMB. Steve's is a day in and of itself, not far from Roaring River but 1.5 hours from Negril.

We enjoyed Discovery Falls about 3 weeks ago. They have limited hours during slow season. Call Scott the owner at 390-4924. I believe it was $50 for the 3 zip lines which took 1.5 hours. They were very safety conscience. In slow season the bar and restaurant is not open, so you can bring your own snacks and drink. Scott is a very down to earth guy. We talked for about 45 minutes sitting at the bar

If you go to Discovery Falls, a nice place to combine it with is Percy's Riverside Retreat because is pretty close by.

Not really an attracttion, per se, but a nice place to chill with good food, bar, and countryside view.
They even have a mini version of the bamboo boat rides.
Here's a web page describing it, with pictures, and phone number to call for directions and advance notice to have food prepared.
