My friend stopped by last night.
"Hey Mark,
remember when we were in High School?

Uh...yeah..??
Well, Remember the class trip to Jamaica??
Uh, no I said, I did not make that trip, remember??

Anyway, My friend brought out 1 plastic baggie with three 2 dollar Jamaican Bills in it.

"You can have them, maybe they are worth something" he said.

Man, the IMF has screwed Jamaica so bad, these are worth about 2 cents.

The exchange rate was 40 to 1 when I first started going.
Now it's about 125 to 1.

He was shocked.

I still have several $2J and a $1J bill left over form a long ago trip. I use them for book marks. Older folks will spot them and remark, "Mon, that's some really old money!" Money seemed a real pain in the arsenal back in the early 80's.

Negril is still a bargain. I can spend two weeks in Jamaica for the price of one week at any of the other Caribbean destination. I would probably spend more to come to Jamaica, I'm just really happy I don't have to.
