I am in Negril right now using an iphone on Digicel, you will need a cutter or some one to cut down the sim card,
there is a Cell repair shop upstairs, above Digicel in Negril, the guy will cut the sim card
And just as an FYI the iphone 5 cards are smaller than the iphone 4
so sim cards for iPhone 4 are readily available?I have an unlocked iPhone 4 from when I upgraded to the 5 and hope to use it in February.
iPhone 4 and 3 etc use the regular size sim that you can pop out of the iPhone with the end of paper clip...
just be real careful carry around those cellies as you are a target.........
that is why mi recommend keeping dem expensive cellies at home like you would jewelry......
you can pick up a half decent used unlocked GSM Quand Band cellie on Ebay for around $20-$30 bucks delivered.......
and make sure your cellie is unlocked when you bring it down....
like a Blackberry Curve 8320 which has a camera and wifi......or just buy one at Digicel or Lime......
but good luck trying to find the cheap cellies these days at Digicel or Lime as they are usually out...
if you decide to give away that cellie as a gift wwhen you are ready to leave for N. America......
just remember to take out the sim and the micro sd card to use on your next cellie.......lol

HoneyBee is correct. I bought the sim at Digicel, walked up a flight of steps, handed the man my sim and J500 and he cut it and handed it back. Quick and simple. Popped in the new sim and after about 5 minutes of searching and welcome texts voila, a Digicel iPhone 5! Now to look into their data rates.

Good stuff Ras.
Now have data on my phone as well. 2GB J$750 for 1 week J$600 per week after that. Renews automatically if you have the credits.
Thanks for the update, Ras. I will be trying that in January.
On the ground info is appreciated!
