Anyone have any experience with buying a digicel sim and using an iPhone 5 in Jamaica?
Verizon's iPhone 5's shipped unlocked so I want to try it this trip.

Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him. KJV Psalm 68:4
It might not be the same now, but I think you need to get a simcard cutter and cut down the sim to the proper size. I could be wrong.
Digicel doesn't offer any Apple products and the iPhone SIM card is different (smaller) so I don't think you will be able to just slip a card into your phone and go.
and please don't make yourself a target with that phone --- people get murdered for blackberrys (and less)
ETA: also Verizon iPhone is CDMA not GSM (Digicel) and there is no SIM card slot

The Verizon iPhone 5 does have a sim card. How about Claro or Lime?

Yes, from the research I've done,it'll work.. you will need a sim card cutter, cheap on amazon
I know you must have a digicel phone --- take out the sim card and see if it fits your iPhone5
Actually we left our last Digicel with family in December. I know it takes a smaller sim but I'm not sure if it's just a regular sim cut down or if it's a special sim.

nano sim
Lime has iPhones on their website. Should therefore be able to get the correct sim from them.
You will need a nano sim, and it will work. Verizon iPhone 5's come GSM unlocked.
