Many years ago, I had land crab in Kingston and they tasted okay (nothing like Maryland crabs). I've since come to learn that they taste better if the crabs feast on cornmeal for awhile before being cooked. I'm now allergic to shellfish so never paid attention to seeing crabs anywhere in Negril.
The crab cake appetizer is nice at Catcha Falling Star, had it the other night at Ivan's.
As far as Bentley's, it is not currently not reopen yet.
Rob is the master of understatement! The crab is amazing at Ivan's. The company even better.
Stayed at negril beach Club last week and as usual no shortage of the land crabs at night and they aren't no small fry's neither size of a rabbit and the more you drink going thru them on the maze back to your room they seem bigger and bigger in your mind. I used to take pictures of them all the time to bring home and show because they are huge and run all around at the condos anytime after sundown.
I already have reservations at Ivan's, cant wait!!!!! Thanks y'all!
Chef Teddy at the Hideaway at the Blue Cave Castle does wonderous things with the land crabs!
