I Will Stay With You...

Sounds like my kind of vacation, except for American pie. I went to american pie for the first time in February out of curiosity, it is indeed a young crowd. I never went in but for a little excitement or pure nosiness you might call it. I sat at the outside tables to see the sights. I sometimes go to certain spots and realize that I must be getting old. My son can party at some of these places. Young crowds are unavoidable at most of the party scenes. I can't wait to go to ATI in August I will only make it to about two parties. That would be enough for me.

Clarity: thank you, that means alot coming from you!! *smiles* Yes he was...I have about 20 pics of him, LOL! And he caught me checking him out and was motioning for me to come to him.....I can't swim so that wasn't happening!!! LOL!!

Let's continue:.... the next morning my phone rings at 8:00am and it is the driver from last night...let's call him *DriverP*. I was just waking up so I asked him to give me about 45 minutes to get ready...he was prompt too!! He said that we were going to breakfast and to take a tour of Sheffield (I have been to, through and past Sheffield many times but I said what the hell!!!) We went to breakfast at this place across from the Fire Station in Negril and had a Jamaican breakfast...I just had callaloo, yams and bananas. As much as I love Jamaica, I rather have an American breakfast but when in Rome...... The food was good, I wish I could remember the name of the place and I didn't take any pictures.

Breakfast is done and we are on our way to Sheffield, he is doing all the talking...and talking...AND talking!! I just listen and nod my head. He takes me to the spring and when we pull up there is a Rasta bathing...I felt like I was invading his privacy, although I know this is the norm in Jamaica. So he kept on bathing like we wasn't there at all and I would take a "peek" every now and then *giggles*. DriverP was trying to convince me to take my clothes off and "bathe" and "cleanse" my soul. UUUUHHHHH mister I just took a shower and I'm good!! We continue to talk and the Rasta finishes and goes about his business and then DriverP starts to undress (OOOOOOOHHH BOY...here we go!!!) and he gets into the water, I just sit on the large pipe, watch him for a bit but mainly take in my surroundings. It really was peaceful there and the greenery was lush and beautiful!!! I was waiting for him to try something being that he undressed right in front of me...but he didn't...that was odd for me because just about every man that I meet "tries his hand". He gets out the water and let's his body air dry and then we are off again on the road.

We stop at a roadside shop to get some water and snacks and then about a while we are back in Negril and we stop at this motorcycle repair shop. Let me explain why we stopped here...during our conversation I told him that I had planned on going motorcyle riding today (somewhat true...I WANTED to go riding) so he tells me about his friend that owns a shop and that he can take me riding..blah blah blah. SO we are at this "shop" and it's about 4..5 men there and only one is fixing a bike...this place looked more like a junk yard, but anyway I am thinking he just stopped by to speak and we can continue our journey...NOT!!! We stayed there for about an hour!!! I kindly but firmly said to him "take me back home and you can come back and chill with them"...be said that "aren't you having fun, this is what we do" I say "I did not come to Jamaica to sit in a makeshift motorcycle repair shop for my vacation".......we go back and forth for a while before I start walking away!! I was ready to GO! BUT...BUTTTTTTT he wants to show me his house...so up to Red Ground we go to his house...I see it...now can we leave and just take me home...I am sooooooooooooo not feeling this!!! I tell him that I am going souvinir shopping and we wants to go with me...NO mister!! Well he takes me back home and says he will call me later and to enjoy the rest of my day. I did not see him again this trip because his "I am a nice jamaican man that wants to chil and have fun" turned into "I am a horny jamaican man that wants some......." NEVER FAILS!!!!

Good report, it never fails when it comes to Jamaican men accompanying an American girl. They always have a ulterior motive, whether it's sex money or something they can benefit from. What a shame. BTW. If you are seriously thinking about going for ATI I have a friend that have apartment rentals on the westend but he also does nightly stays and the prices are very reasonable. If interested you can private message me.

AWWWW I love that pic JIM-DONNA and thank you for the compliments. I am so happy that you all were able to have a stress-free flight down!!!

Which brings me to my next story....MOTORCYCLE riding!!! I love to ride bikes...well more of a "hugger" I'm scared to actually drive a motorcycle, lol.

After DriverP drops me off I relax in my room for a while and then decide to hit the road for souvinirs S/N...I day I am coming back home with no souvinirs, they take away from my time and money...but I'm a shopaholic and need therapy, LOL!!. OK back to the road...You all know the usual *meep meep...TAAXI TAAXI....meep meep* and this year there were lots of motorbikes doing the same thing and I say the usual... "no thanks". WELL, this guy stops on a motorbike and asks if I need a ride and I say "no thanks, just walking", but he keeps telling me to hop on and I look at the bike and look at my bottom half and say "all this is too much for that bike" and he laughs........ *PAUSE* All of this trip I have been talking about is hopping on a bike to my girls, but I really wanted to get on a sportsbike...you know the Suzuki's and the Honda's... but this was more of a supped up scooter. So I thought about it a minute and said to myself...well those Zuks do go rather fast and with no helmets or gear it might not be safe so I think this supped up scooter will work and on I hopped and off we went..ZOOOMMMMM!!!!!!

I wanted to go to the big craft market to look for a couple pairs of leather flip flops for my sons and he took me to his sister's shop...but he comes the fun part....he rides me through the craft market on the motorbike SOOOO COOL!!!! We go from shop to shop until I find what I need...oh that was FUN FUN FUN!!! After that we head back down to my hotel and we chit chat for a bit and off he goes!!! I get a call about an hour later saying that him and his folks want to take me and my girls out riding...but they don't ride. I shower and change into my riding outfit (booty shorts and a tube top...would had worn heels but I didn't bring any this time) and I ended up riding out with him and his folks and we stop at a few bars and ride around the Westend and towards Sheffield. We stayed out way past dark...I couldn't believe that after all these years I FINALLY got to ride a motorbike and I was out riding at night...WAY COOL!!!!

I went out riding with him about 2 more times during my stay, wish it was more but it is always next time!!! I can't wait..WOOOHOO!!!!!

One morning we decided that we wanted Alfreds for breakfast....this was our walking day and day of the Flea Market down by the Beach Park. We decided to walk down to Alfreds from the Rayon...just me and SxyATL (shame I can't never remember my sissypoo's screen name, LMAO...luv you sissypoo!!!). We had a nice breakfast at Alfreds and met a lady that does Yoga..I think her name was Jenny or Jamie, but she was telling us how she moved from the states to Jamaica and how much she loves it there. ONE DAY...ONE DAY!!!!!!

After breakfast we decide to walk to town, but we stopped a few places along the way...I think Times Square (told yall I am a shopaholic!!!). And then we stopped at Travellers to donate and paint a brick.

We continued our walk to town and thought about stopping past the flea market but decided to just look from the street and keep it moving. We ran into a few folks that we knew and chatted up a bit and continued on.......we FINALLY make it to town and I go and handle some business and then we go for ICE CREAM at Devon's House....that was our treat for our longgggggg walk. Needless to say we hopped in a route taxi back to Rayon and took a nap!!!!

Have a great time at Myrtle Beach BBW, I went when I was in college in ATL. And to this day I have never been to a better biker event. It was AWESOME, have fun!!! I have been planning on making it back there just for that event. Love all your photos!

Boardwalk Village and The Board Bash..... One day we decided to get real puuurdy and go to Boardwalk Village for dinner and listen to the band. Boardwalk Village is a combination of souvinir stores and restaurant and is just beautiful, wonderful location and very friendly staff. The only complaint that I had was the mosiquitos....they torn our legs up!!!!

Luvs , every single night I go out in Negril I take my Deep Woods in my bag with me. I am always prepared and I never get to smell good, LOL, but I don't get eaten.

The Boardie Bash was great and we had a wonderful turnout!!! It was great to put faces with names and to meet everone!! I didn't know that so many folks actually live in Negril...I am so jealous but one day I will be able to say the same thing!!! The food at Canoe was good!!!

OOOOOKK!!! NOW it get's teary eyed right here and the explanation of the title of my trip report... I Will Stay With You!...

The last full day in Jamaica and I decide that I was going to find the fried chicken place that I went to many years ago (had THE BEST fried chicken I have tasted, it tasted just like my momma's!!) and to get another taste of jerk pork!! One day when me and Mr. FIONESEXY were out driving we past by this road with a bar and I made note of the exact location for furture reference!!! So on my last full day I woke up, showered and dressed and went to SxyATL's room where her and MsDreadyV were relaxing and after a while I said "I'm going to get me some frien chicken and jerk pork!!" and they said "we going with you" and off we went. Outside of Rayon at the Elvis Bike Rental are taxi drivers that we use and I asked Romaine if he could take me to that jerk spot he took me too the other night (the pork wasn't that great because it was the last bit and near closing time) cuz I wanted to try it freshly cooked. I told him that I wanted to go to a fried chicken spot and I think I remember how to get there and he said "sure hop in"

So we head down the beach road towards the roundabout and I tell him to go left like you going to Sheffield, we are looking for a bar that sits on the right where the bikers hangout and it is across from a huge orange wall. OK...so we ride and ride and ride ... and a time or two I hear from the peanut gallery in the backseat "uuhhh YoYo are we lost", "you sure you know where you are going" and I say "we not lost and I do know" but I was starting to second guess my own self, LOL!!! AHH HHAA..THERE IT IS TURN HERE TURN HERE is what I tell him and up the road we go and I say "we are looking for a small cookshop and up from it is a white house" We past many white houses and cookshops until we reach it and I say THAT'S IT...RIGHT HERE!!! He pulls up in the yard and we get out and I am all smiles...after all these years I FINALLY found this place again.

*PAUSE* for a briefe explanation of how I came across this place: A few years back I was in Jamaica alone and was out walking and a cabbie pulled over to chat me up, we exchanged numbers and we called and wanted to take me out to the country side...well who was I to say NO (I am always up for an adverture), LOL. He took me to his house and then we took me to this cookshop where all the locals that lived in the area would go to after work. Well I had only been there that one time but the chicken made just that much of an impression on me that I have been determined to get back...but I didn't keep in touch with the cabbie so I had no way of knowing where it was located. BUT lucky that I pay very close attention to where I go when I venture out with strangers in Jamaica!!!


*back to chicken place* Ladies and Gents the name of the cookshop is Ms. Etty's and it is located in Orange Hill...I didn't get a good pic of the actual shop because I was too excited that I found it!!!

NOW, as we are riding around Romaine is playing Tarrus Riley and we absolutely LOVE Tarrus Riley!!! The windows are down and the breeze with flowing through the car and we are eating Ms. Etty's fried chicken. AND then it happens... Tarrus Riley's song I Will Stay With You comes on and we get to singing...I am singing and swaying arm out the window going from side to side and I am in a zone. MsDreadyV touches my shoulders and says "she is in her zone" and next thing you know the tears FLOW!!! OMG...then SxyATL starts crying...then MsDreadyV starts crying...so we are all crying and singing... I Will Stay With You through your ups and your downs...I will stay with you when no one else is around...I will stay with you.....!!! Just sad this is the end of our trip but yet happy to be together and have had this time. And then he puts the song on repeat...this time we are crying and laughing and singing at the same time!!! OH!! what a bonding experience it was!!!

I had to take a minute cuz I had got tearyeyed writing that....After the tears were semi-dried we reach out final destination which is to get Jerk Pork. Now when he took me there the other night I didn't know the name of the place, he just said it was in Red Ground and I didn't pay attention to much because I was feening for jerk pork. When we pull up this time I pay attention to the building and it is the infamouse Red Dragon that I hear so much about. I go in to get 3 orders of Jerk Pork and I ask if he has any juice boxes (felt like a little kid, lol)...I can't remember the flavor but I want to say it was PineappleCherry or something like that and they did and I brought 3 juice boxes and back to the car and back to Rayon...eating jerk pork and drankin juices!!!

AAWWWWW It's the morning and time to head back to the real world!!!

I am up early putting the last items in my luggage and realize that I have more than I came with and I even left a huge bag full of items (I REALLY need help with carrying so much stuff!!!). I realized that I needed another bag, lol. I head to Alfred's for my final breakfast in Jamaica and tried my best not to cry and look sad while sitting there....I had so many emotions going on....sad i was leaving Jamaica, sad that I finally got the guts to cut off FIONESEXY (I miss him!), sad that Alfred's was crowded which meant new people I would not meet, sad that I was leaving some good people, sad that folks can't up and leave Jamaica like we do in the States.....just SAD SAD SAD!!! But I held it together!!!

Left Alfred's and went to Times Square to pick up a large tote bag and back down to Rayon with about 15 minutes to spare before Clives picked us up...the ride to the airport was OK...
