All kidding aside, I am a little concerned about how quickly possible ebola cases are popping up all over the country due to air travel. I'll just be extra diligent about hand washing and observing people around me.
If I may...
Ebola cases are NOT popping up all over the country... and the two that did, did not result from travel, by air or otherwise. You wouldn't know it though, by all the wet panties that we're seeing on the 24 hr "news" outlets.
We really do need to keep perspective. I like the way Caribbean governments are handling this, by refusing entry by people traveling from the affected areas of Africa, as well as by nationals of those countries, until this outbreak blows over. This is how you prevent people from taking side entries... by using good passport control methods.
Now... perhaps the Big Pharm corporations can be convinced that this a battle that's finally worth fighting.
Re: With the ebola scare, are you traveling ?
Our Negril addiction is much stronger than the Ebola virus.
We're still going!
Re: With the ebola scare, are you traveling ?
The only way to stop Ebola is to help get it under control in the areas where its most preveleant. If you say to people they can't come through the front door (meaning stopping flights to and from those countries) they're gonna sneak through the back. That being said, Id be more concerned catching the flu on a plane or any place else for that matter then Ebola.
Im going to Ja in 8 days. Ebola be damned!
Get a flu shot.

Re: With the ebola scare, are you traveling ?
Perhaps I should rephrase, what I meant by possible cases popping up all over is that all over the news you hear about someone with a fever being investigated. Just today there was breaking news near the Pentagon because a woman threw up. Turned out to be nothing Ebola-related, but everyone is on high-alert.
Re: With the ebola scare, are you traveling ?
Chris B. Well said.
I'm still going. The trip will have a positive affect as well. There's no tv where we stay, so I will not have non stop coverage of the issue all day. I'll just watch the waves, and if I come back to a world gone mad, at least I will have spent a lovely holiday in negril.
Re: With the ebola scare, are you traveling ?
The odds of me winning the lottery are probably much better than my being infected with Ebola at this time. Quite frankly, I plan on neither.

One of many reasons why I do not watch the news. I do like John Stewarts' take on the events.

Sher... thanks for taking my comment in its intended context. You're absolutely correct, though. There is a sense of hysteria regarding this issue, and the system's response to the known and suspected cases has certainly not helped. I hope the get their head out of their posterior orifice soon.
In the meantime, we all need to take a breath, use our common sense, and be smart enough to recognize the media's BS for what it is.
Re: With the ebola scare, are you traveling ?
Wonder if CNN advertizing rates go up when hysteria reigns. Remember Malaysia Airlines? This too shall pass.
