looking for a low cost monthly rental

Thank you everyone for your advice and suggestions. This is just at the dreaming stage now while I am checking out my options. Ideally I will get a job soon and be vacationing in Negril--staying as positive as possible.

NYS also warns you that you cannot leave the country and claim the benefit. You have to give up the $$$ for the week/weeks you are away.

I am not claiming unemployment if/when in Negril. I have freelance work I can do remotely.

plenty of places for rent......a real lot mon.......all over da place.......especially in low season
just go door knocking and you'll be happy with what you get.....
if you could lock in for 3-6months you can get a house for $20,000-$30,000J's a month......plus pay wata and current

Lest I sound like I was misleading... perhaps I should not have said "they can frown but cannot stop you"- some places allow remote check in and direct deposit of benefit as long as you can provide proof of LEGITIMATE job searches. I was basing my comment on the experience of a close friend from Colorado who was able to her job search during an extended stay in Negril without difficulty from unemployment. She did a number of online & telephone interviews before flying home for face to face interview that led to her latest employment. However, since Irieworld is not looking to collect benefits, all of this is a moot point.

I apologize if I was in any way being flippant or irresponsible in my comments.

Its a digital and mobile world. I have interviewed and hired people before meeting them...

rum pole here is to hoping that my plan pans out--in one way or another. It sort of lacks critical thinking and strategizing, but some works of art begin from less:)
