looking for a low cost monthly rental

Looking for a place to rent in March or April for a few months. Need it to be secure and safe, and also easily accessible to Negril downtown and beach. Wifi is a plus but negotiable. Any ideas, please post.

Cynthia. They have rooms and can arrange for a meal a day/etc and so on...met the lady while playing dominoes in a Red Ground/Hermitage yard bar.

"for a few months." What a subtle little evil sentence...rub it in LOL

thanks for the tips, Brasi-- will check them both. My subtle evil sentence of "a few months" is actually a loaded one-- I recently lost my job and realized I can pay a lot less rent in Jamaica the land I love than here in NYC --while staying on the job hunt and doing freelance writing jobs online. Nonetheless hard times for me these days, lost a good spot with excellent benefits during company lay-offs.

About 4 or five years ago a dear friend stayed very comfortably long term at Jah B,s
It has a very loyal following and a large extended family
A little like Fawlty Towers Jamaican style.

Try Greenleaf cabins across from beach from Coco Lapalm behind "Best of the West". Good good people, safe ground. Talk to Jennifer. Good luck!!

That sounds like a good plan, especially if you can job hunt via the internet. It would certainly be something I'd do!

Sorry that you loss your job.
Try Hidden Paradise. I have heard nothing but good things about this place. I have not stayed there yet. April will be my first time. The price is right

I posted in the other forum first and didn't realize you had lost your job! Sorry...

At least you can job search on the beach! It seems like you have a good handle on how to move forward. I would be one giant ball of stress...I wish you luck on the move...and move back.

Life sure does throw some curveballs...hang in!

Check out Summerset Village. I stayed there for a few weeks and was pretty happy with them, and plan on spending another few weeks there again late this summer, and they do have some pretty good long term rates, just talk with Petronella.
