This was a typical breakfast plate at my home in Accompong Town.

Loved the mixture of okra, callaloo, tomatoes and onions. Different yams and dasheen as they are available. Simple but nourishing.
Peace and Guidance

That's very good Yetta. However Jackass Corn is not similar to Corn Fritters but more like a crunchy biscuit that has a very unique taste.

Re: So much Jamaican Food in one plate...What do you think?
I have had "blue drawers" or whatever they are called. Several years ago at Seastar, I asked Francine's mother to fix me some. I had read about them but had never had them. Quite different yet tasty!! Always good when they are homemade by a yardie! :)

Rice and Peas and Chicken
Rice and peas and chicken on a Sunday is like a Jamaican ritual. Most Jamaicans believe that if they are going to eat at-least one "proper" meal a week it must be on a Sunday and that meal should be nothing less of rice and peas and chicken (fried chicken in most cases). Even if they have had rice and peas and chicken several times that week, it is just not as ideal as on a Sunday afternoon. Take a look at this beautiful and delicious home made Sunday Special. Yummy :)
