Why We Love Alfred's

We go to Alfred’s for breakfast three times a week. And we love it, here’s why:

Location, location, location. An easy walk from almost anywhere on the beach. Once you arrive you have a great view of the water and the beach passers-by.

Service. Quick, pleasant, professional, competent. Really appreciate not feeling that I’m imposing on a server’s personal time, as is the case at some other establishments. At Alfred’s they get it right and execute with aplomb.

The tables and chairs – classic, sturdy pieces made from local hardwoods by local craftsmen. I don’t know long they have been there but they look very well used. And they have decades of use left in them. Comfortable, solid. No cheap plastic that is uncomfortable to sit in.

A fantastic menu. Try the Jamaican breakfast – it will fill you up and you won’t have to eat until sunset. Wonderful! The prices are spot on – no gouging – and are listed in Jamaican dollars! For those of us who carry JAM$, that means the price of coffee doesn’t vary with the US dollar. Thanks! They also take Canadian and EU currencies. Nice.

You don’t have to ask for a refill – it just appears on cue.

Nice background music that is played at a comfortable, conversation friendly, non-intrusive level. :cool:

You don’t have to wait for the bill, somehow it arrives at the table just as you are thinking of it.

Finally - No Smoking. YES! Thank you Alfreds! So nice to sit and have breakfast free of other people’s smoke.

Thanks for the tip, never thought of Alfred's as a breakfast destination. Will give them a try in April.

Their egg sandwich on cocoa bread is killer

so agree - love Alfred's for breakfast! And they are open early when I'm on the lookout for an early cup of coffee!

I love the NO Smoking part!

Oh my Goodness, and the blackened chicken ....so delicious! Not to mention the breathtaking spot on the beach! I love the food, music and wifi =)

Never been there for breakfast but have had dinner there a couple times. I'd describe the service as mediocre at best. Food was good when it came. Drinks were hard to come by.

I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

I Love Alfred's too. I will be having breakfast there next SATURDAY _ YAHOOOOOO!!!

We love breakfast there!! I always get the banana pancakes! They are the BEST!!!! Last year people were allowed to smoke at the tables outside. Don't know of that's still true.

We love the fish and chips there. We always have to make a point to go there for that. We had the coconut shrimp this year also and it was the best.

Sounds great and on my list.

Attachment 41025 While enjoying my fish and chips at Alfreds, I couldn't help but notice they have a volleyball court.

Love the breakfast there! I think what I get is called Negril Sunset (?) basically an open faced breakfast sandwich with cocobread, ham, tomato, cheese & fried egg. Soon yummy.

We had lunch there and loved it the food was good service was slow but you are in Negeril who cares
