I Will Stay With You...

OK, figure I would do a small Trip Report.

*DISCLAIMER..this will not be in any type of order*

This was my longest trip thus far with many longer trips to come...I think 2 weeks have fulfilled my *I need more time* cries!!! This trip was not exciting as the others, no real drama, didn't go partying as much, didn't go off to the hills/mountains with some strange rasta I just met, no midnight skinny dipping,....just a regular ole vacation!!!!

It was quite a few of us there during the 2 weeks...some came...some left...but we endured!!

Me and my Sissypoo met at Miami International (I from DC/MD and she from ATL) and had breakfast at TGI Fridays, hit the duty free for some spirits and boarded the plane to HOME. From the time we crossed left the plane to the time we stepped outside the airport it was all of 12 minutes, a NEW record for me. We shared the ride with some boardies we met on the plane (can't remember their names), but he said on the plane "I recognize you" He made me feel like a celebrity...hahaha!! We laughed and talked and shared Red Stripes on the ride to Negril, it was so much fun. Even learned how to "conceive in Jamaica" and all about "deposit"...:eek:

HOME at the Rayon Hotel and our rooms are ready, we drop off our stuff, have some fresh coconut water and then head to town to handle some business and hit the cambio and grocery store.

Let's back up a bit to BEFORE the trip. Since we planned on being there for so long and planned on going back soon we shipped a box (we had TOO MUCh stuff for a barrel) of items to Jamaica and MsDreadyV (who was there celebrating her 50th for 50 days) picked up the box in Mobay and all of our stuff arrived save and sound. If I had all of my clothes and shoes I would had shipped those also.

*disclamer...I am OCD when it comes to packing and I DID still over pack and had to pay overweight fees....just lay hands on your monitor for me!!!!*

We shipped the items from Atlanta, but most major cities have cargo shipping and you do have to pay duty when it's received...all in all I think we spent about $250 total...give or take. Some of the items we are keeping in Jamaica at the Rayon for our return trips.

WOW! And I though I was crazy with packing too much stuff! Glad I'm not the only one...I was over by 4 pounds on Jetblue last trip but he let it slide...That was the 32" suitcase and it was a MONSTER! I couldn't even lift it into my trunk...then I had my 24" carry on suitcase AND my purse and laptop bag stuffed with more stuff...I have no idea how they let me on with so much stuff but I had a bruise on my shoulder from all the bags the next 3 days and my back was killing me...the funny thing is, there were still things I wish I had brought. :o Great report so far...carry on!

This is going to be a good one!! Loving it!!

Sorry for the delay, had to take care of some personal matters.

Now let's see where was I....I brought liquor down with me a bottle of Coconut Ciroc, Peach Ciroc and Strawberry Queam since they don't sell those on the island. BUT I did find out that Rayon has regular Ciroc and Nuova(sp?)!! I tried not to drink to much on this trip and I think I suceeded in that because it has been trips where I would bled alcohol...I learned from that!!!

Let's move on to FIONESEXY (some may remember him from previous reports) well he was also on the island they same time as me this trip. Before he left New York he told me to call him and I was hesitant because of past *issues* but I did anyway because I knew we would run into each other at some party. WELL the first couple of visits was fine, even the first trip over to Sav, I chilled with him, cuz and twin and we had a good time drinking, laughing and such....then came time to go out!!! We head to the neighborhood hole in the wall (sorry STILL can't remember the name, all I know it's on the road of the stop light and near the Petcom gas station) but it wasn't anything popping so we heading back to Negril to party with twin in tow!!

We end up at American Pie (my second visit this trip) and it's a good vibe this night than before and it could had been because I was with a man and not alone (you do get treated differently with a man by your side in Jamaica than alone or with your girls!!!!). We are having a good time dancing and people watching until................WOOSAH WOOOOOOSAH.........he leaves me for a minute!! A guy walks up to me and offers some medicinal and I decline and then he starts with the *you know me*, *don't you remember me* blah blah blah....and I don't but so he can leave me alone I say *Oh yeah, I do* because I KNOW FIONESEXY is watching from wherever!! And sure enough I peep to my right and he pops up from out of thin air...UT OH. Here comes the 50 questions and attitude!!! Anyway we end up leaving American Pie and he gets furious that I won't go back to Sav with him...*personal reasons I won't reveal on this board*. But let's just say that I arrive safely back to Rayon without a kiss goodnight!!!

THE 2:30am WAKE UP: This was the crazyiest experience....THE one night that i *DID* decide to stay in Sav, I am awaken at 2:30am and for WHAT...to go to a club. I could be doing other thangs at 2:30am....hehehe. So I get up and dress and we head to Club Cancer (I think thats the name), and it's a regular Jamaican club but it has a stage with dancers and dancers mingling around. OK, not tripping because I go to strip clubs here in the States and have been to strip clubs in Jamaica. But I am sleepy and a bit angry so I'm not really feeling this!!! After about 30 minutes we leave the bar side and go to the dance floor and stage side and I'm just standing and watching folks and taking it all in. Then I look towards the stage and the dancer is complete nude...ok....look around some more and look back to the stage and now there is a man on stage....ok....look around some more and look back to the stage and now the man is nude....WOW... ...... wait for it...wait for it...wait for it.......................... I will not decribe in detail what went on but lets just say that I stood there for forty-five (45) minutes with my mouth open!!! (if you want detail, messge me here or on FB).


This was my wakeup and goodbye trip with him...he is fun when it comes to hanging out and partying and allowing me to see other parts of the Westmoreland area.

Hey to the Blandys...same here!!! I was sooooo tired that day and was out it but I'm glad i got to put faces and names together!!!

Wish you'd made the Magic Bus Luvs, we would have had a blast! Sorry we never got to say hello. Were you at the boardie bash? We came late and ran hard, know we missed a few folks who were there... Sounds like you had no shortage of excitement though!

Hey Guirigay, I was at the Boardie Bash. I tried to make the bus trip, but I had the dates mixed up.

In planning our trip this time we thought...HEY LET'S HAVE A POOL PARTY. It was small and we just invited a few folks, SxyATL brought some hot dogs, I made hamburgers, the Rayon threw in some jerk chicken, MsDreadyV made baked beans, her friend made coleslaw and potato salad and other folks brought a bottle. It was an American BBQ in Jamaica...:) :)

Let's go Jet Skiing and Parasailing....

I have been to Jamaica too many times to count and have never Parasailed!! I was determined to do it this time. I spoke to my jet ski guy and he set everything up for me and said to be back on the beach at 3:00pm. 3pm came and he came for me in a regular boat and no parasail, I look at him and the guy driving the boat a lil strange like what yall trying to pull?? But they saw my face and assured me that I had to catch that boat to the parasail boat...uuummhhmmm OK misters!! We ride out and I am enjoying my ride and taking some pics.

We pull up to a boat in the middle of the ocean and the guy tells me to hope out one boat and get into the other. HUH? DO WHAT?? both boats are rocking and moving and I can't get my balance and is scared to death. But just like a true Jamaican one of the guys from the parasail boat picks me up...YES I said PICK ME UP from one boat and places me down on the parasail boat....YEP with all of my FLUFFYNESS. WHEWWWWWWW WEEEEEE them jamaican men sure is strong!!

We wait for a while and I am talking with another lady that is going up, it's just me and her. They strap her in and up she goes and over comes Mr. Strong Jamaican...oh sheesh...but he was nice so I conversed with him until it was my turn. I was all set to take pics, but that soon went away when I sat down and they hooked me up!! I put my legs out straight and grab hold of the harness and up up and away I went. OMG, that was the most breathtaking experience!!!! It was so quiet up there and I just felt like I was floating on a cloud. The views of Negril almost made me cry and I was so mad at myself for not taking my camera up with me. And then it was time for me to come back down.....I was holding on to the harness so tight that it was hard to pry my hands open to release.

OOOHHH, how I enjoyed that and can't wait to do that again!!!

I went parasailing in Negril a few years ago and I found it (just as you said) surprisingly peaceful. I thought it was going to be scary or thrilling but it was actually the most calm and peaceful experience.

I'm sorry I missed you guys. We would have had a blast. I'm thinking of coming in Dec with the rest of you guys, but I'm leaving next mon to head to negril with my 18yr old niece who have never been out the country.

We did not ship our bags down we shipped food products house hold things down cause we had a kitchen which saved us a lot of money!!

oh I just love hearing about your experiences and looking at your pics, it is like I can vicariously live it through you until my next reach. :) I too will be parasailing for the first time in all my trips too, so it is a relief to know that it is more of a peaceful than a 'thrilling' experience, that sounds like just about my style. I am so sorry for the delay ... I am in the mist of getting ready for Bike Week in Myrtle Beach, SC...Let's continue!!!

A few years ago I got the nerve to get on a jet ski and I told the guy to go slowww and he did and he took me down past the A/I's and each year after that him or my other jet ski friend took me out and we went past the A/I's (down towards the RIU). WELL dangit this year I wanted to go in the other direction and towards the Westend (always saw jet ski's out that way). The 2nd day I got over to the beach .... Sunbeach area... and I look for either of my jet ski guys and don't see a one, except one that never took me out, so I asked where they all went too. One I knew that he left for the states right after I left Negril last year. One just up and disappeared. And the other one *WOOOO CLAWD THAT MAN WAS SUMKINDA SEXY!!* he is said to be up in the hills someplace....*almost went looking for him* SOOO that left me with no one to take me out but the guy that has never took me out before and another guy that I never met before!!!

The guy I never met before...let's call him "NMB"and let's call the guy that never took me out before "NTMO". Let me set the mood...me and the gyals are chillin on the beach and I inquire about a ride to NTMO and he said he would take me out when he comes back, well after an hour I got antsy and got NMB to take me out, but the clouds started to roll in and I felt a few sprinkles and was hesitate to go but like a true Jamaican he said "it's not going to rain, come on". I hop on behind him and hold on tight and told him "you can take me anywhere but down that way towards the RIU, I've been that way enough", so out towards to where the sky meets the water...or so it seems from the beach. He goes a regular speed and I am like "OK, this is nice" then I tell him to speed up a bit and off we go!!! VVVRRRRROOOOOMMMM!!! jumping up and hitting the waves and I am giggling and laughing like a little kid, it was so much fun!!! AND then he asks "you want to drive" and I say "oh no no no ridind in the back is just fine" He stops the jet ski and convinces me to drive...uuuhhh how we gonna do dat mister I ask and next thing I know he stands up and tells me to side up and he gets behind me. I place my hands on the bars and he does the controls...wooooweeeee this is kinda fun!!! THEN he stops again and this time shows me HOW to drive on my own...I give it a lil gas and the jet ski jerks and I stop...was a bit scary....I give it a lil gas again and I keep going and eventually I am speeding and hitting the waves and turning... I am REALLY DRIVING a jet ski!!!

I think I was out for about an hour and when he brought me back I was soooo excited and couldn't wait to go out again!!!

I went out Jetskiing about 5 times this trip...including twice up to the Westend. On one of those rides NTMO took me all the way by the Lighthouse...that was a nice long ride. I asked him to take me out that way and he told me that I had to go early morning because the later it got the more choppy the water would be....and that was sooo true!!! To see the hotels from a jetski was so beautiful, but I had a hard time looking from the hotels to the horizon to the beautiful blue of the water. The water is really crystal clear blue out that way, like you are inside a pool. Folks were waving from their hotels, I manage to pry my arms from around his waist to wave a time or two, LOL...ok ok yes I was scared!!! The water out that way was more choppy and we hit the waves harder and caught alot of air more than a few times. He took me all inside the caves and all I could say was WOW over and over again and kicked myself for not having my camera....AAAGGGHHHH...next time!!!

So no pictures from my jet ski rides to the Westend...just memories!!!!!

Myrtle Beach bike week! Oh goodness! Have fun!
That is where I am from and I remember those bike weeks! LMAO

And I think I saw you on one of your jetski runs up by west end....I was waving from Sagi at Catcha Falling Star and the smile on your face surely let me know you were having fun. I am in Florida now and we have a jetski and everytime I go out on it I call it the permagrin.....you just can't help yourself from smiling constantly!

Thanks, everyone for keeping up with me and being patient. I was a bit upset about not being able to attend the Chicken Bus tour...AaAGGGHHH!!! I really wanted to go to Pelican Bar but sometimes in Jamaica you get sidetracked and loose track of days and time, LOL!.

Thank you MaryAnn...i had the hardest time trying to find yellow sandals. Clothing and sandals are very limited in this area during the early part of the year!!!

Yeah we were really sad about you missing that too, I am just surprised you even answered your phone if you had the days mixed up because we were sitting outside your hotel pretty early that morning when I called........Next Time!!!!!!!

My first visit to American Pie....WELL WELL WELL!!! I must be getting old because American Pie was NOT exciting to me...it was OK, but I didn't enjoy myself too much and I left early. I really didn't party too much this visit really...CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!??? SO, let's back up to the beginning of the day that leads into AMERICAN PIE!!!

One of the gyals hadn't been to Rick's Cafe and we were going to go so she could experience it, I have been numerous times. One of gyals said she would meet us there and off me and MsP went. Nothing exciting to really report....half naked sexy with ripped body strong men hanging from the walls and trees diving into the ocean!!!

Our other friend arrives with the lil man just in time for the sunset and then off we went to 3Dives. A few years ago I had a bad experience with them and vowed to never go back, but I am one of those type of people that will give things a 2nd chance and this time I am glad that I did!!! I ordered the curry chicken with callaloo and it was very good!!! Every table was full of people and we even got entertained with a majic show. As one of my girls said *DINNER THEATER in JAMAICA*!!

After dinner at 3Dives we head back to the hotel and then we head out to Robby and Maureen's place for some drinks...Robby makes some really good drinks!!! That is a really nice bar he has and good location...this was my second time this trip that I visited the bar.

After a while there we hit the road to American Pie!!! I really felt my grandmother status kick in when I walked through the doors...OK, it was ALOT of young folks...no listen to me YOUNG YOUNG folks in there, I already knew that my time there would be limited. I walk in and this guy comes over to me and speaks...I talked to him BRIEFLY at the beach party a few days ago...SMH...I speak and move on to the restroom and while I am waiting I look back and this fool is standing outside the door...REALLY DUDE??!! When I come out he is still there and walks up to me like he was my husband waiting for his wife to come out the restroom, he grabs my hand and puts his arm around me...I say "uuuhhh mister, please leave me alone and get away from me" he ask "why yi ack tis way" I yell "LEAVE ME ALONE!" and of course I get the kiss teeth and called all kinds of clot this and clot that....mister get a life and leave me be!!!!

I then get a drink from the bar and stand and watch folks dance and move about...wrong move!!! Everybody just conviently bumps into me, so I move and more bumping after about 20 minutes of that I go stand outside and more bumping...OH MY GOODNESS....I can't take it so me and MsP leaves and head back to the Rayon. We hop negotiate a fair price from a taxi guy (none route taxi, but he gave us the same rate as one), and we chit chat back down the road and of course he wants to chat me up seperately and offers to take me to breakfast in the morning and you all know I accepted, LOL!!
