First trip to Negril in December!

Hi everyone!:cool:
I really enjoyed watching the webcast from Seastar Inn a few weeks ago, and it just made me even more excited about my upcoming trip! Everyone here seems so nice and helpful! I learned about this board, and just joined, so I plan to be following along to learn some good tips from all of you experienced Negril lovers. Thanks in advance for any suggestions for fun things to do in December/January.

You will definitely have fun! That one trip, I guarantee will not be your last! I came back on the 18th and I'm already having withdrawals. To deal with these symptoms you just start planning your next trip:)

Baylee, welcome to the board! So glad you are going to Negril for your first time. You will be amazed.

I've only been once myself, last May, and loved it. What I found after going was I'd walked right by a lot of great places and didn't know it. Reading many trip reports back through the pages of this board exposes you to a wealth of fun times had by others, and where they like to hang out. You may find this helpful in planning and just increasing a comfort level with well reviewed spots.

I've not quite found a community of travelers that love a place as much as this group. Anything you have a question about, post it and we'll help you.

Thanks so much! How cool that we are arriving on the same day. We are staying at the Rockhouse. :-) My boyfriend actually planned the whole trip as a surprise birthday present for me, so I know nothing about the place, but I already know that I can't wait to get there! :-)

Yes! We would love to stop by some of the webcasts. I know we will definitely make it out to Seastar Inn for the Saturday night show. I saw it on the webcast, and it looks like a lot of fun! Rob and Bnewb told me it was really close to our hotel, too. :-)

At the SeAstar right now... Great vibe and solid pizza to boot. I freakin love this place and the best host in Negril. Seastar is the place I want to be.....

The Rockhouse is beautiful, lots of nooks and crannys to sit and watch the sea, or leap into it! The main bar had a good vibe. Guirigay's trip report here on the first page of the Negril forum has some incredible photos of his and Sweetie Pies' dinner there.

Rockhouse is my favorite restaurant in the West End. Lobster Thermador is to die for!!! I stay two properties away (5min. walk..if that) & I stay for 5 weeks..this will be my 21st year coming (01/30-03/06) to Negril & always stay in the cliffs. I'm there a couple times a week for eats or drinks cause it's soooo laid back & comfy vibe. Staying there for 5 weeks would cost me a fortune..so that's not an option. You'll absolutely love Rockhouse...nothing not to like there...NOTHING!!! In fact...you won't want to leave I'll bet.

Thank you so much BJ for the reassurance! What is the trip report called and where exactly can I find it? Would love to see more photos of the place! I saw a photo of our villa on the website and it looks amazing right at the edge of the sea cliff.

Hi Rooster (cute name!) Wow, 21 years visiting Negril! 5 weeks?! Nice! We are only staying for a little over 2 weeks. You had me at Lobster Thermidor LOL! I'm so ordering that! Funny, I haven't even been there yet, but I already told my bf that I think I will probably want to go back! LOL! What's the name of your hotel?

Mayfield Falls is unforgettable !!!!!

Sunset Of The Cliffs
It's an older place..but in stay in a 2nd fl. rm..with my deck perched about 75ft (if that ) from the beautiful blue sea...it's spectactular. I go to sleep & wake up to the waves crashing into the cliffs. AHH...yes the coffee maker goes off (on my the deck) & get up to watch the fisherman reel in the nights catch...rough morning...right..LOL.

The resort staff gave that name years ago....because I always make sure they are taken care of during my stay. They told me why they gave that name....the Rooster looks after his flock....& guilty as charged...that's exactly what I do!!! Well I always come bearing gives them...there's that..LOL. Are you kidding me...from what I get from them & their culture...I'm a not religious person...but they give me a breath of life that I've not found elsewhere. The great thing of Negril is...since my first trip in '88 (yea I skipped a few years going other places) it hasn't changed all that much...& I love it. Where in the world can you find a place where mankind hasn't exploited it with major hotels...tell me. My hope's it's stay's with way....we'll see.
