Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
So I have been looking at a million websites to try and loose some weight. The thing is I have literally no time to excercise plus i have a nine month old that takes up all my time. Self pitty is not an option right now so I ma determined this time to make it work.
So ladies, do you have any tips for me? (The men can help too but our bodies are so different) I'm going to try the apple cider vinegar regimen along with cutting white carbs completely for this period. The thing is too. I really love food so i have no idea how I am going to do it.
I would apprciate anybody with any success stories to give me some tips. I would really appreciate it.

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
I have lost some weight by adding more fiber to my diet. I stopped drinking sodas and I make it mandatory that I drink at least three 50fl oz of water a day. I know it might seem like alot water but its not. Good luck!

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
IMO, some type of exercise has to be a part of it to keep it off...the quick fads never last...with your baby, it can be mixed in, such as shorts walks pushing the stroller, etc....just a walk down the lane and back....a walk around the property on your breaks, just something small makes more difference than u think...

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
I had great success with the 17day diet, which eliminates refined foods. Lots of veggies, protein and some fruit. I lost about 10 lbs on it in just three weeks.

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
If you arent into heavy duty exercises, walking is definitely good.

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
But how exaclty do i count calories and eat healthy while on a tight budget? Ok, So my start date is tomorrow (June 10, 2013) I am planning on cutting out all white carbs, so no bread, rice or anything like that. just veggies, meat and water. I hope my cravings for icecream does not get the best of me. I am also going to get a bottle of apple cider venegar and my friend got me this ZUMBA video so i'm going to try working out with that. I will give you all an update at the end of each month.
Is there anyone else here that is going to tag along with me?

Hey Sadie,
I was reading about that and that's the route i was planning on taking. Question for you though: Did you exercise too with this plan?
My plan is to loose a total of 55lbs. I am only 5'2" and I way 195lbs. This combination sucks!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
I have lost over 35 lb in the last 18 months under a doctor's care! It's not that hard. PORTION CONTOL!!!!!!!! Trust me; it's been a lifetime battle and this works! Up the veggies; lower the carbs (don't eliminate them - they're important, but you don't need a 450 gm bag of chips at 9 o'clock ...). Have them early in the day. Keep your meat to a reasonable amount (pack of cards)! Trust me! Yeah, you're gonna fall off the proverbial wagon now and then, but that's OK. Think HEALTHY EATING; not necessarily weight loss and you will be gold! I will see you in 2 weeks )!!!) and we can talk more. Forget the fad diets and the eat only stupid stuff ... go realistic. Something you can LIVE with FOREVER! Oh. And eat more slowly! And you don't need a Monster Gym membership. WALK! Just move! Again, something you can live with. Swim a few laps in the pool before your shift twice a week. Or after ... be sensible. And don't expect miracles tomorrow .. it took a lifetime to get the extra weight ... it ain't gonna go realistically in 3 weeks. Hungry? Have a hit of celery .. then a PORTION CONTROLLED amount of chips. Always size your servings. Eat slowly and ask "why am I eating this?" We will talk June 22nd 23rd!

Yes, exercise is recommended on this plan, but walking is just fine. It makes you feel so much better. After the first 17 days, you get to add in healthy carbs, so it's not forever.

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
I tried the 17 day diet. After 17 days I threw the book in the garbage. I have since lost 35 lbs on weight watchers. Eat protein at every meal and load up up on fruits and veggies. For protein just take the skin off the jerk chicken. Fish is great just don't fry it. Bake it instead. Protein keeps you full. And like kaycee says Water Water Water. I also do soda water with just a splash of cranberry juice. Don't deny yourself the things you love or you with binge on them. Just eat a small portion when the craving hits and make sure there is no more in your house. I do still eat the "white" stuff just in smaller portions and not every day. Walk any chance you get. 15 minutes is better than not at all. Good luck with your weight loss. It is definitely a life style change.

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
M&G, excellent points...esp. the portion control! The biggest help is eating more fruit, veg, fish and chicken and plenty of water. Minimal if any, processed foods. Eat more of what Jah gave us and less of what man has made. Good luck, you are already on the right path. As mentioned above, exercise is also needed, walk as much as possible and don't forget dancing. Great exercise right there....dance around you home while cleaning, etc. :)

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
my husband needed to lose weight as his health was starting to deteriorate. We just decided that day that we would make an honest effort. In the last year, he's lost 85 lbs, and I've lost 20 lbs. Yes, men seem to lose easier, but yet he had a lot more to lose than I did. If you totally deprive yourself, you'll give up. I totally agree with MofromMonroe, more fruit, more veggies, salads, protein every meal, avoid junk. You know what junk is.... our worst time of day was evening, around 9pm munchie time. Try a Riccola throat losenge. If you dont crunch it, it can last a half hour or so, by then the craving is less, just go to bed. Or if you have to have salty things, try Special K chips. Count out 18 chips (see label), with a diet soda. Not toooo bad.
We only eat french fries on Friday nights when we go out to eat. We only have a "reward" desert on Saturday nights. The rest of the week, we're good.
Crave ice cream? measure out a half cup....
Moderation. dont deprive yourself too much, but change your habits. Use calories wisely. Drink lots of water/tea. Eat breakfast, but GOOD breakfast, eggs, oatmeal...
This is my best advice.

Add me to your club - I started on May 3rd and vow to be 50 lbs lighter when you see me next February. So far I've dropped 12 lbs. I'm staying away from the starches and sweets. I'm also taking Zumba class twice a week and walk 30 minutes at lunchtime almost every day (when it's not raining) also doing 10-15 min of pilates when I get up in the morning. There is a great website you can join up (for free) and get lots of ideas for meals and you can monitor your weight and measurements as you go. They even have a message board where folks can encourage you along. SPARK PEOPLE link is http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/l...asp?wherefrom=

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
Hi Okema,
I have had great success with a website that tracks food intake calories and exercise. I love this website, fun and it has a great support system through the message board very much like this one. Feel free to look me up and please add me as a friend so we can chat and give each other some encouragement. The website is www.myfitnesspal.com all you have to do is make a profile and it will tell you how many calories to eat each day in order for you too be able to lose weight.. etc. Anyone interested we could have a Jamaica, Seastar group. Anyone who has done (WW) weight watchers online will love this FREE website.
Carmen (mrswpg) is myfitnesspal name too

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
As someone who has lost & kept off 50-55# for decades, I would suggest you don't look at weight loss as a temporary effort. It's a lifestyle change. I could go on & on about this but will keep my suggestions to a minimum. Exercise, move, do something you like. If you're a stress eater... yoga or pilates, yoga especially, will be very relaxing & make you more aware of how your body responds to different foods. Eliminate meat, processed foods (someone else suggested this, too). Processed foods have lots of hidden suger. Read the labels because you want to avoid sugar as much as possible. No flour. For a quick spurt weight loss... eliminating sugar & flour has always worked for me. Think about everything you put in your mouth. Am I really hungry? Do I really want this? It will become a habit. No eating after 6-7 p.m. Pick a few & look forward to a new you. You can do it. Unless your body has created extra fat cells at some point in your life, your goal shouldn't be that difficult. If you have the extra fat cells (I do), it'll just take longer.

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
I've lost 103 pounds since 2007, maintained it and am still losing.... I lost my 1st 52 pounds with no exercise, by following Dr. Ian Smiths plan. 1st book was/is called the "Fat Smash Diet"... Dr,. Ian was on VH-1 TV's Celebrity Fit Club and started something called the 50 Million Pound Challenge. The plan was pretty easy and perfect for the jamaican lifestyle... There are no pills, only fresh food. The 1st 10 days are a detox. You eat as much Fruit and veggies as you can. Every fruit, except Banana's and dried (concentrated sugar)fruit like raisins were/are in play. Every veggie except potatoes and Avocado's were in play. After the 10 days he reintroduces meat into your diet, in the proper portions, along with other things...After 90 days your whole lifestyle has changed. Since he wrote his 1st book, "The Fat Smash Diet", he's written 6 other's including his latest, "The Shredd". Keepin it real, the reason he got to write those was that his 1st book was such a winner! I went to pick up the FS book, not the Extreme Fatsmash for a friend last year. Although it came out in 2007, it was still selling for the same price as in 2007... That rarely happens with books these days... My lifestyle now is all about fresh! As a Radio guy, I've had all the programs that are offered over the Radio and I got paid to do them! I found the Fat Smash on my own, have never made a penny touting it and have had tremendous success.
Although a lot has changed on the website since it 1st started, as an accommodation to his latest books, http://www.doctoriansmith.com/the-50...und-challenge/ remains an excellent resource for a real and doable lifestyle change...No pills...No surgery... Just lots of fruits, veggies in abundance and meats in moderation. Here are the nuts and bolts of the plan so you can see for yourself, before grabbing the book... http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/the-fat-smash-diet
Blessings on your journey...
Sitting on my butt and talking on the Radio for over 2 decades packed on my weight 381lbs-278lbs... 58 waist to 44 and I'm still on my journey..Just lighter and with tremendous energy...Started working out after the 1st 52 pounds, but got side tracked for almost 22 months caring for a loved one!
My goal for our June 2014 trip is to be 225 pounds with a 38 inch waist...Same as I was at 25, 25 years ago, lol!
If I can...anyone can! The best thing is that this lifestyle change only costs the price of the food you eat.

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
You can do it!!! We are all here to support you!!! If I can do it, anyone can! Also lost 50 pounds in the last year. The first 30 pounds came off pretty easily but those last 20 pounds were a doozy, and I would still like to drop 20 more! What I do is cut carbs (stick with around 30 g a day) and eat a diet of lean meat, vegetables, seeds, nuts, eggs. To treat myself, once a week I allow myself 60-80 g, and indulge a little within reason. It was hard for me to cut down on fruit, but I still eat some berries every day. Also try to exercise for an hour 6 days a week, daily eat 6 cups of raw or cooked veggies, and drink LOTS of green tea and water. The turning point for me was realizing if I cheat, I get back on the wagon the next day, as opposed to giving up and then gaining more weight than what I originally weighed. If I have a stressful day and stuff my face with food, I forgive myself and carry on.

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
One more thing, if you seriously crave ice cream, try having 1/2 cup of frozen Cool Whip (add some nuts and/or berries), which is much lower in carbs than ice cream. If I'm desiring chocolate, sometimes macadamia nuts will cure that until my "splurge" day when I usually do indulge in a little dark chocolate. There are lots of low carb recipes with nutritional info on the internet.

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
Hi Okema,
The easiest way to moderate your food is to cut portions in half, (that way you are not having to eat differently from your family) be careful of the rice and peas, steam/bake/ broil instead of frying, no sweets (but allow yourself ice cream (small) once a week (try sherbert instead of ice cream) lots of veggies, & fruits (they do have lots of sugar so moderation again), fish......no gravy/sauces. And dance, dance, dance whether it be zumba or sat night at sea star, and walk the beautiful beaches (great for the booty).....XXX

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
One thing I've found over the last year, being generally successful, is to keep track of everything on Fitness pal and stay within my limits six days a week. One day, I go over a BIT and eat something fun in limited quantities...like pizza...nachos etc. I STILL track that so I can see the implications of that food. Then once a month I eat dessert...anything I want. It helps to know that I can actually go a month without sugar and its also good to know that I CAN have a yummy dessert once in awhile. I try to plan that around dinner parties or celebrations so I don't feel deprived. Again, it needs to be a way of life. For me it was partially finding out I was diabetic. It gave me that kick in the butt. But after a year, of avoiding white foods...my doctor said I must be doing SOMETHING right because she said really...with these results, I'm not in the diabetic range anymore...

Re: Need Your Support!!!My Weight Loss Plan for Next 3 Months
There is a lot of good advice here. Fresh is best. Allow yourself to splurge on that ice cream maybe once a week and try swimming in the sea for at least an hour each day. Limit your carbs and watch your portions and you will see that weight start to go slowly but surely.
