Everyone always talks about lobster, but I don't like it myself. However I love Crabs! Where can I find good crabs at? I would think that you would able to "harvest" them like you do lobsters? But maybe I'm wrong. I've only read about 2 reviews of places with crabs ans that's Kubya & Fireman's. Any other suggestions?
Bentley's, although we personally didn't like it.

ate someone's crab backs they brought back from Bently's and they were fantastic. Can't speak for anything else as I haven't actually gone there and ate a meal.
I love crab 2 so it'll be nice to see some more replys....??...anyone?

the Ja-land-crabs i've eaten tasted ok ---- not like the Chesapeake Bay crabs (hard & softshell) that I'm very familiar with. (to-me) the Ja-land crabs have such a bland (i.e., no taste) flavor, you need a heap of OldBay or some-such seafood seasoning to jazz 'em up.
As for "..harvesting..",
I suggest making your next Negril-trip sometime about mid-Summer, when the crabs are running (literally) all over the place.
'tis best-est to do the 'harvesting' at night. They don't like the hot-hot Ja-sunlight. It kills 'em --- kinda sorta like vampires.
in fact, one *could* go-out to the main-road just after sunrise, and probably find a few crabs dying along the roadside:::: still fresh, and won't try to run away,,, and probably too-weak to grab you with one of those claws.

i met a lady, who had hired some guys to go-into the swamp, to catch crabs for her.
Her car was stuffed with several large sacks of those ugly-critters.

apparently they don't have land-crabs in Kingston, or maybe Negril crabs are *special*

Many years ago, I had land crab in Kingston and they tasted okay (nothing like Maryland crabs). I've since come to learn that they taste better if the crabs feast on cornmeal for awhile before being cooked. I'm now allergic to shellfish so never paid attention to seeing crabs anywhere in Negril.
The crab cake appetizer is nice at Catcha Falling Star, had it the other night at Ivan's.
As far as Bentley's, it is not currently not reopen yet.
Rob is the master of understatement! The crab is amazing at Ivan's. The company even better.
Stayed at negril beach Club last week and as usual no shortage of the land crabs at night and they aren't no small fry's neither size of a rabbit and the more you drink going thru them on the maze back to your room they seem bigger and bigger in your mind. I used to take pictures of them all the time to bring home and show because they are huge and run all around at the condos anytime after sundown.
I already have reservations at Ivan's, cant wait!!!!! Thanks y'all!
Chef Teddy at the Hideaway at the Blue Cave Castle does wonderous things with the land crabs!
