Sand Castles
March 24th - 25th, 2014
Creating structures out of soft sand is something that seems to come natural to people of all ages. Along the Negril beach you can see many examples of this way to spend a fine day in the sun! We captured this picture of "Pringle's Castle" as the designer's called it as we were walking the shoreline by Merril's Beach Resort. The builders of "Pringle's Castle" designed the sand sculpture so that the Caribbean Sea would flow through the front opening and fill the inner area with water. Although this structure was made with care, as with all things by the sea, the same water that would fill inside of the sand castle will wipe out all remants of the castle with time (in this case, within about 12 hours). And don't worry, they took the Pringle's can once the sea tide came in and flooded the castle - the small branch in the right front turret was left to fend for itself!
