My neighbor died in a car crash last week
I was sitting on the Veranda and a saw 2 women standing in front of the house next door.
Then a few men joined them and then a few more women.
Soon a small crowd had gathered.
My sis in law said "the big Man, next door was killed in a car accident.
All day long folks started coming.
Soon, a pick-up truck with long 2"x4"s and longer bamboo poles arrived.
"They are setting up for the party" a lady said.We celebrate the life of someone who has
made the transition.
I watched the men with the lumber build benches and tables.
Directly Across the street there was a bushy vacant lot.
The second day a Back Hoe came and cleared the land and leveled the ground.
Then they built a wooden Bar.
For 5 straight nights the rum flowed and the music blasted the night away.
The second night I tried to go to bed early.
Stupid me.
The music did not allow that.
So, I got back up and joined the party.
Luckily I have a very big Veranda gav which gave me a front row seat.
May the gent rest in peace

Re: My neighbor died in a car crash last week
Sad to hear. But 2 trips ago, a fren of mine asked if I would like to go up in da hills and help dig and help do mortel and pass the center blocks. This white guy got a lot of looks. LOTS of fist bumping!!_ Once I was there it felt like i'm part of the community. I will never for get the time we had on the prep, the parties and the wake. GOOD TIMES. and LOTS<LOTS of rum and smoke.
