A good solution to a place to stay where they can experience a little "family" type of atmosphere and still order food whenever they want might be SeaStar http://www.seastarinn.com/ Their free Shuttle Bus to and from the beach and an Airport Pickup and Drop off might be enough of a security to their parents.

    Just an idea.

It's not a matter of trust. AI is preferred but not the only option they'll consider. They are very responsible kids. Thanks!

I would suggest Grand Pineapple also. It s a good "starter" resort. buffet meals three times a day with made to order burgers in the afternoon if you miss lunch or want a mid afternoon snack. Plus, all three can be in the same room - most rooms are 2 beds, and unlike some hotels, the price per person goes down with more guests per room, there's not a fee for "extra" guest. The location can't be beat, they will be so close to day and night activities. Just a thought!

I agree with the GP rec. I think an AI like the Riu won't have many people their age that aren't couples and they will get bored. There's so much to do on the main beach and it will be easier to meet other people their age. It will put them close to the late night music venues. They should go on the pub crawl early in their stay.

I have got to say the we actually really like the Grand Pineapple mostly for the affordability and the closeness to everything on the beach! The beach security guards are awesome and really do keep track of when you are leaving and when you are expected back. No free airport pick up, but we were able to arrange transportation with Sandals at a very reasonable cost. Provided activities do not really exist, but again, you are right in the middle of the beach.
The food was basic, but very good....again, you are in the middle of the beach with all kinds of food available.

If the budget allows - Pineapple would be a very good choice. Great beach at ground zero in the centre of 7 mile, a very well managed Sandals resort, very good security, 3 meals a day and more if they want it, drinks etc. etc. There is likely no better place to give you peace of mind for them and you.

It is a small resort, good location, food....each to their own. I understand the AI thing, especially because it reduces the cash two 19 year olds have to be doling out daily! No nightlife whatsoever, though. They will be bored to tears at night, the bar closes just after 10pm! I didn't think they took under 21 years as well...

Yeah but GP is next door to Alfred's with raggae bands every other night, Roots is just down the beach for other nightly activities.. just saying.
