It's 8 AM on the morning of our 10 year wedding anniversary and I'm in heaven right now. I have to keep pinching myself because this doesn't feel real. I feel like I've stepped into a 007 movie...Villa Sur Mer is beautiful in a way I can't put into words. It transports you to this other world. It's so lush and so private...swinging palms,exotic plants and this decor that is different from what you would usually see in Jamaica. It's almost Moroccan, completely unique..like a remote tropical paradise...like something out of a movie...We were upgraded to the Honeymoon suite!! I had tears in my eyes when they opened the doors to the villa and ushered us in...
Sorry I'm really overwhelmed right now by this whole experience and having a hard time expressing myself. I'm just so in awe and grateful to the universe that we're here right now.
Okay, I'm going to try to describe where I am...Markus is sleeping in this huge plush white bed, I can see him from where I'm sitting...which is a private cove w/ a desk with wooden slit windows on 3 sides, giving a full view of the outside jungle landscape. There is this huge overground banyon tree (??) with gnarled vines and a pathway..I can see the balcony area with the swinging cushioned bench...The sunlight is shining in through the trees, There is a soft breeze, I can hear birds in the trees and what sounds like a small lamb in the distance. Other than that, it's completely quiet, except for the rustling of the palm trees.
Everyone here is amazing, I've been here for less than 24 hours and I feel at home here... I don't want to leave..
Yesterday was incredible...we explored the grounds, the underground cave leading to the ocean is amazing! we snorkeled off the cliffs, swam in the pool... we got a tour of the main house and sunbathed on the deck
We had a romantic dinner at LTU pub...you guys are right about the Chicken Lola and Pumpkin soup!!! SO good!
The flight in was brutal, stressful and long...there were delays and luggage issues... we didn't sleep on the red eye flight at all, so we were in kind of like shuffling around in this weird dream-like state most of yesterday. Our eyes bloodshot, but too excited and happy to sleep...mumbling incoherently "Wow Wow Wow...I can't believe this..I can't believe this..." until we finally passed out from exhaustion at around 9:30 PM.
I just can't believe we're here...
More happened but I'll write a full TR when we return. For now I'll update bits and pieces from Jamaica whenever I can with some pics here and there...
We've just arrived so we haven't met any boardies yet, I know you are all out there and whole bunch more are arriving on 4/21! I Look forward to seeing some familiar faces when we venture out of Villa Sur Mer.
THis is the nicest resort we've ever been at in our entire lives...I know this is a once in a lifetime experience. We are fully appreciating every minute here. I couldn't envision in my mind a more perfect place to celebrate our anniversary...it exceeds when I could even imagine
