We Will Carry Donations of School Supplies to Jamaica!
Once again, the Jamaica Field Service Project is planning our 2013 trips, where we will bring over 150 university students and professors to volunteer in the schools and care centers of Jamaica. One of our five scheduled service-learning trips will be to the Negril, where we will be working in the surrounding primary and basic schools, as well as the parish special needs school, infirmary, and homeless center.
We need any and all school supplies - including crayons, markers, pencils, chalk, printer paper, composition notebooks, etc. If you have a box of school supplies you would like earmarked for our work around Negril, just contact me. I will be glad to send you a mailing address in the US, and can guarantee that your donations will go to good use, to schools and care centers that badly need these donations.
We also work extensively at the Westmoreland parish infirmary - basically an elder care center. They are in desperate need of adult diapers - any size. If you want to send us a box of adult diapers, assorted bandages, etc. we will carry these items and deliver them for you. These are parish run care centers, and the level of need for basic items is extremely high.
All you have to do is put your items in a box, and email me at eric@jafsp.org for a mailing address of one of our participating university students. You can then send them the supplies yourself, and they will carry these items to Jamaica. Or you go to the program's Amazon page, where you can see a list of items needed for our work, and order them with a click of the mouse. Any items ordered on the JAFSP Amazon Wish List are shipped directly to our US offices, and carried to Jamaica by our participating university students and professors. Here's the link to the JAFSP Amazon Wish List -http://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/286HWF44P49HG.
Please feel free to email me with any questions. I direct the JAFSP, and can be reached at eric@jafsp.org. Thanks!
