How many Quality's can one place have? We were at Quality seafood the other night, had Quality himself drive us home with a stop at Quality traders.

I agree. Even here in Chicago with the best pizza in the world, I always order 'well done'.

Yeah, I love tomato and cheese casserole.

Re: A new pizza place in Negril - Quality Pizza!
Rob orders his pizza well done also...the pic is overly light...the pizza was well cooked! We'll take a better pic next time.
It's crazy to think of pizza wars here in Negril...considering we barely had pizza until relatively recently!

Yeah Mikey, I got your back! Nothing beats Spumoni Gardens or Lombardi's. I frequently travel to Chicago for work and can't get into the deep dish thing.
I digress - I will have to give the Quality Pizza a try when I am back in Negril. I think the chicken on the pie in that picture gives the impression of clumpy, un-melted cheese. if you look closely the cheese is indeed melted and the crust is cooked.

Yeah, same here, always well done when I order from a standard place.
An informal Negril "pizza throwdown" would be fun with some boardies as judges. Maybe an event for this years bordie bash week.

Re: A new pizza place in Negril - Quality Pizza!
I was there new years eve had the veggie. it was very good did lack alittle sauce but good..
went back the next day and ordered the Full house,, i didnt like it at all. was told there was pineapple, chicken, pepperoni, mush, etc.
no pineapple at all no biggie but there was sliced vienna wieners on it which was definitely a first.
hardly any sauce and not at all crispy crust. for 2000j not a fan.
on the bright side i will go back and just ask for more sauce and ask for well done. veggie and pepperoni only for me tho..

Chicago the best? I beg to differ. Care for a pizza duel?
-
Re: A new pizza place in Negril - Quality Pizza!
I like mine crisp - with a slight crunch. Marko how are the pizzas at German Bar?
-
Re: A new pizza place in Negril - Quality Pizza!
We used to make a pizza using roti. It's an Indian flatbread.
Our niece is East Indian and she would fry the roti and I'd make pizza sauce.
Jamaican/Indian/Italian Pizza.

In case Marko doesn't get back in this thread...the German Bar pizza is a nice thin crust pizza with a variety of toppings...my fav is their funghi concoction...most times you need to like cheese A LOT!

Re: A new pizza place in Negril - Quality Pizza!
It would be a great duel that I'd be willing to take 40 years to finish! I've got some good genes for it, my Dad (who just passed in Dec) opened a pizza joint in Chicago in 1950. Ran it for almost 30 years and passed down his secrets to me. I'll take any pizza, but the Lou Malnati's deep dish with a solid layer of sausage (no little nuggets) is amazing.
Sounds strange but going to Jamaica since I was 3yo and have never had pizza there - cliff dweller so I think there are less options. Are there any in Negril with an Italian style brick oven with pimento wood?
-
Re: A new pizza place in Negril - Quality Pizza!
i have yet to order a pizza in Negril... it cracks me up... pizza...in Negril... but i guess that's why there's a burger king, too... the western-ification of the world! Interesting thoughts and considerations of such since my trip to Eastern Europe this past summer.

Now you're talking! I thought I heard that Sunrise Club had a brick oven and the place is Italian owned. Never tried their pizza (or the restaurant, for that matter). I will have to check it out next trip. But I think using pimento wood would make for an excellent pie!

Re: A new pizza place in Negril - Quality Pizza!
If you love the idea of pizza & Burger King in Negril...then you're going to love hearing that Little Ceasars & Popeyes is opening soon... :biggrin-new:
Pretty sure they don't use pimento wood...but there are a few brick ovens around town.

Re: A new pizza place in Negril - Quality Pizza!
So Rob, you pictured a large chicken pizza but there are no sizes marked on the menu. Would that feed 2 hungry adults?? In Canada a large would be 14"

Give Ciao Jamaica (across from SamSara) a try for some excellent pizza ~ what was your Dad's pizza place called, I'm originally from the Northwest side.

Re: A new pizza place in Negril - Quality Pizza!

OK. Quality check. So Quality Pizza and Quality Traders are related, but not related to Quality Seabreeze. Is either of these Quality's related to Quality & Fayes Art store?
Or is that another Quality?
I see why you live there ..... there is no other way to try all the restos in Negril. There must be more good restos per capita in Negril, than anywhere else on the planet! Or so my "Restos to Try" list tells me! (Gonna arrive hungry, with stretchy clothes only!)
I must be lucky - I've never had a bad meal in Negril, in particular and Jamaica, in general. And service has always been if not great, good - or interesting!
