Seastar Inn Fans: Best Room for a Couple??

Gosh it has been so long...I even forgot my user name!

I decided long ago that my next trip to Negril would be to Seastar! The planning has begun....sooooo.....

I need some info from you Seastar Inn Fans. Me and my hubbie coming down in the winter or early spring....I want to know what is the best room? We like sitting on the verandah early mornings and late evenings. Like having morning coffee in our room...need fridge. Don't like to be really far from the bar/restaurant/pool, but far enough. I'm thinking upper level room, but which? Might consider lower level for right reasons

    Opinions, input and photos please!

I've been in four of the rooms, and they're all nice. I think most have fridges .... No. 6 in the back is nice with a king bed, first floor.

the rooms at SeaStar Inn are very large by most standards..........
they are all a likkle different and there isn't a bad room in the place
you'd be safe picking any room other than the 4 in the rear of the property that are on the second floor.......
they're 12, 14, 15 and 16 which are the least expensive rooms($59/night for two with breakfast) however their mi first choice when I stay there...
first cause their away from everybody and the rooms are big (but not as big as the other rooms) with huge balconies with a table and four chairs and a hammock.......plus the rooms have all the amenties like A/C, fans, cable, refrig, queen bed, desk/table and nice tiled bathroom......
the SeaStar Inn website has some great photos of the rooms as well as NegrilOneStop.com......that should help you alot.......

    Enjoy!

    Marko,
kinda confused about the rooms in the back....are you just "throwing folks off" so they won't get your choice of rooms--or are they truly the best ones! ;0) LOL !!

Or do you like them because of the large balconies and privacy? We do need to be sure we have a king bed.... Are the rooms arranged so the lowest numbered ones are nearest the front/pool/bar area?

those rooms in da back go the fastest sometimes and maybe mi trying to "throw folks off"........
cause mi luv dem rooms and don't want competition.......lol
but seriously I travel solo so a Queen Bed is plenty for this guy.......
so the rooms in the back are perfect for mi........plus their priced the lowest

if I was going as a couple........I'd go for the rooms with the King Beds........alot of couples like 6 and 7........dunno why

they even have two bedroom apartments which are off da hook....kitchen, living room and table etc
great for a couple with children......or someone who likes their space........like Kimbo.......lol

I certainly am a Seastar fan too. I've written a couple of reviews on Trip Advisor - 1 for the restaurant and 2 or 3 others on the Inn itself.
We usually prefer a downstairs, since hubby has had both hips replaced and we like our 2 double beds. So our normal choice is room 8, almost at the end but still less than a minute or two to the restaurant and bar/pool. This year the children and their significant others (ages 24-25) are joining us in January and they will be staying in the uppper back rooms that Marko describes. We are counting down the days and can't wait to return.

We have stayed at Seastar Inn over the last 10 years or so, beginning when there were only 6 rooms to rent.
All of the rooms are great in their own way.
Linda and I loved room 8 the last two times. It's away from the bar/restaurant/pool noise. (although most nights it's not noisy at all)
It's near the clothes line; which you can use to dry a few things when it's not in use for sheets etc.
The property is totally beautiful in front of that room and it has two queen beds, fridge (all rooms have a fridge), mini kitchen and Seastar's island made furniture.
Not to mention the multi channel cable t.v. and air conditioning.
Not having to climb stairs is a plus after leaning on the bar all night, and you can get room service of course at no extra charge.
Just use the cell phone provided with the room to call the bar/restaurant.
I also like room 1, although it doesn't have a mini kitchen. It does have a fridge and a great view out the front gate to observe the comings and goings and such.
Room 4..one of the upper rooms next to the office area is also cosy and has a great balcony.
All of the rooms have their own charm; even the least expensive, smaller rooms are fine.
It think we stayed in 14 or 15 facing the backside of the other rooms.
The annex building at one time housed the beach police patrol before it was refurbished by Seastar.
You just can't go wrong with any of the rooms.
