    Pelican Bar

So I am planning on taking my wife to the pelican bar for our first wedding anniversary. Any tips on who to use and how much I should expect to pay?

I recommend Rocky from Rocky's Taxi & Tours. Used him a number of times and he is great?

Pelican Bar is a fun trip, but if you really want to win her heart, take her to Rockland's Bird Feeding Station. The magic of a humming bird perching on her finger to get a drink of sugar water is hard to explain. Also, take the tour of the grounds. Lots of plant lore to be learned and more birds to be seen and heard. It's not far from Montego Bay.
We're all in this together and none of us is getting out alive.

This summer at camp a Humming Bird flew in an open door and could not get out, it must have known I was trying to help it let me put it in my hand walk to door and it sat on my hand for awhile looking at me before flying away, will never forget that. Amazing!

Anyway, I trust you all and am looking forward to "getting it"!

I would strongly suggest going with a group of like minded people if it's at all possible. I used to think the same way as you, wondering what the big attraction was. So one day we took the trip to see for ourselves what it was all about.

Lets just say we won't be going back anytime soon. We were the only ones there at the time and it was not only boring but a little bit scary. Nothing bad happened to us or anything, it just seemed that for as much as we had heard about the place, it should have been a lot more fun. We stayed for a couple hours and nobody else showed up so we just left.

I'm sure there are a LOT of people on here that will disagree with me on this one, but as I said, we were the only ones there and I'm sure it would have been much better with a fun group of people. I'm not trying to discourage you from going but, I wish someone would have warned me of this before we went. Just sayin.

Thanks for all the responses. Thanks Capt I am having Linston pick us up at the airport so I think I will just set it up with him on the way. I will let everyone know what I think.

Big Shiny N Mango got it right - based on my research.
If you don't go with a group, it going to be a Chevy-Chase-at-the Grand-Canyon-moment ala the film "National Lampoon's Vacation".
It will take most of the day in transport, you'll look around, go "cool", and then what?
Whereas if you go there with a group . . . you've got your crowd of merrymakers to entertain you on the road and at the bar.
Going to the Pelican means investing one whole day.
That rug really tied the room together.
