    Tips and Suggestions

    Hi all,

I wanted to have your thoughts on a woman travelling alone in Negril.

Long story short this will be my 3rd time to Negril but making the trip solo this time for some much needed R&R after a really crappy 2013. My trip's booked (on the beach) and I'm really looking forward to it. Also, I lived in Kingston on and off for 5 years, so know a lot about the way things work down there.

I'm a beach person, love to swim and snorkel but have never been to the cliffs except for Ricks Cafe. I hear a lot of you talking about places, some I know, some I don't. With all the experienced Boardies on here, I'm looking forward to your suggestions on how to make this a great holiday.

    Thanks in advance

Go to any webcast. Good people to get to know with lots of experiences. 3 Dives, Seastar, Canoe. Don't forget the One Love bus for a great afternoon at different cliff bars.

I always travel solo. I love going to the West end and sitting out on the cliffs near the lighthouse. Its usually quiet and you can catch glimpses of party boats going to Ricks.

Take the One Love Bus on the pub crawl best way to see the cilffs if you never been. You'll want to go a 2nd time book early.

Go to Sips and Bites on the cliffs, awesome home cooked local food. The brown stew chicken and sides was delicious!

I've stayed twice solo, back a month from the last one. Stayed at Le Mirage on the cliffs before moving to the beach. Like you, I was in need of serious r & r and it was perfect. Beautiful views, pool and rooms and very safe and homey, close to walk to many great eateries and stores for supplies. Go to Xtabi for lunch or breakfast and take your snorkeling gear. You can hang out, explore the caves, one has easy entrance to the sea of you don't want to jump. Great deck with loungers and hammocks. After snorkeling, have a dirty banana - the BEST!

Seastar will pick you up and return you for free when you go for lunch or dinner. Very welcoming place to hang and swim in their pool. Buffet and good entertainment on Saturday night.

    Enjoy!
