Looking for some input on a possibility of where to stay~ Considering Xtabi
So I am looking into a trip to Negril for May with my wife. We are both pretty young and are mostly looking to relax while in Negril and are not huge partiers, but we do like to have a good time. I am looking for someplace in the west end and I have looked at Xtabi because the price is very good but I have read a few concerning things about robberies and such.
I am basically looking for some input from people telling me Xtabi is great and not to be worried or also looking for possible recommendations from some nice bed and breakfasts on the west end that are not too much money. Thank you so much for all your help I truly appreciate it and I am looking forward to my first trip to Negril! Donovan

Price wise, security wise ,in the middle of everything , I don't think you could do better. May, somewhat rainy, Xtabi has pool, good covered dining and bar. Close to places you may want to walk to for food and drink. Perfect for ON cliffs!

Xtabi was our first place when we reached Negril, and went there many times after. Great place for first timer and just want to relax. After a couple of years we slowly graduated to the beach scene. Then we never looked back on the cliffs too much. But still like to visit.
Cheers and Congrats on first time. Have a blast....

It's a wonderful place to stay in my opinion. Eating/drinking there can get rather expensive but cheaper options are only a few minutes walk away. If you stay there ***don't get drunk/high and try to cross the road on your own****. But stay there and have fun!
Other cheap options would be Sue's place(backpackers type of place), Miyard if they still rent rooms, Mangotree.....all sorts of cheap stays....enjoy the best....I mean West End~

Here's a wonderful option, all rooms have beautiful seaviews. Very nice place, rooms and great location to stores and restaurants. Stayed there last month and loved it.

Careful of LIVING SOCIAL deals. Sometimes the 15 percent tax is taken from the RACK-RATE cost of the room, not the rate you're paying, and that's how they get you. They say something like the rooms should usually cost 300 dollars per night, so they charge an additional 45 dollars tax per night.

I had that happen with a groupon but challenged it with hotel management (as did many others) and it was adjusted. It's hotel management that may try to do this. I would email Nadine directly at Mirage to confirm taxes. She's a sweet person and I'm positive she wouldn't do the money grab thing.
