On our Boulevard walk this morning......

.....from Rayon to da bridge and back. Observations:

The new stop lights are only suggestions.
The new sidewalk is actually paved parking.
Any tree can be a urinal.
Lime cell service is becoming more popular.
Cafe GOA is a very popular breakfast stop.
The name Kenny doesn't sound Italian.
Lots of getting ready for NYE shows.
There are fewer taxi horns when walking the sidewalk where you can.
Shamrock Enterprises has the cheapest bottled water.
Are those chicken cooking barrels cleaned before being stored wherever for the day?
There is no speed limit on the Boulevard.
There is a curious odor emanating from around the river.

Hi Weathermon, hope you are having a great time.

Biggs barrel chicken next to Hidden Paradise does clean his equipment often. You can catch him frequently stopping by late mornings / early afternoons scrubbing down his barrel.

I've had some good conversations with him while he was doing his clean up and getting ready for that nights business.

When I stayed at Green Leaf... The guys who ran best in the West would wake up every morning about 5am to clean their grill. Not sure about the others.

Very true about the tree urinals...Ive seen many "poles" while walking. They just smile, wave and continue. LOL!!

#1. Yes, I watched a bike dude just beep his horn and drive thru the red light, same thing as for the crossing guards.
#2. They park on the sidewalk everyday, but I think this is kind of like littering - the people who do it don't think there's anything wrong with it, it just doesn't register with them.

    #3. Ummm, guilty as charged.
    #8. Yup.
#11. Part of the culture here. Might as well get used to it.

Glad you mentioned the stop lights. They are really pedestrian cross walks. This summer I saw them red 1X... cars did not stop because nobody was in the road. Useless. (was there 4 weeks... short summer trip for me)

Not much progress on the sidewalks this summer so no comments on that "improvement".

Any tree, any wall... a place for a guy to pee. Sheesh... lol.

There's never been a speed limit on Norman Manley... wait, there is. It's just never enforced. I remember running early one a.m. & watching 3-4 cars speeding & passing a Negril police cruiser... on a curve!!!
