Re: Samsara
As I've posted before, we spent a couple nights there April 2013. Water leak in the bathroom from the room overhead, wasn't fixed but we were asked to check out early so they could fix it for the next guest, green water in the hot tub, all-inclusive drinks were weak and not tasty, red stripe on tap definitely is not actually red stripe. The all-inclusive food was adequate, and repetitive. Nothing stood out as great. Breakfast was good if all you need is eggs and toast. The coffee was decent.
Found the people to not be especially friendly, and the guy at the desk had no clue. Bartenders could have been friendlier. I wonder how they treat people who don't tip?
The owner has been discussed on these forums as well. Creepy guy, doesn't seem to have any clue how to interact with his guests.
However, as you can see others love the place. The property is nice enough, enjoyed the beds on the cliffs, great views.

Re: Samsara
I am almost positive that the room in the first pic in post #10 is the room we stayed in that had the leak through the light fixture in the bathroom ceiling.

Re: Samsara
Every time I see a post about Samsara I cringe. I've stayed there quite a few times over the years and used to be a big fan. That was before I was rudely kicked out while walking up to the bar with my wife. It seemed Maurice didn't like the fact we weren't staying there. We were down there for a couple of months so were staying someplace more economical. At the time he had a big sign painted on the wall outside that said " public welcome". I also had a room booked for my parents there for a two week stay in my name booked on my credit card. He shouted and cursed at me and my wife. This was the first day of our trip. I've spent a lot of money there over the years and was really offended with the way we were treated. You my think you know Maurice but if you deal with him you are taking the chance of finding yourselves on the receiving end of one of his phsycotic episodes. I would avoid any dealings with him. I've had many conversations with locals in the neighborhood about this and was told this is a common thing with him, just ask someone.
