that's a GOOD-question(s)
frequently asked, but rare-ly answer-ed by anyone(s) on the island/in-Negril
anyhoooooooooo.....
firstly, a 21-year old female WILL have a good time (guaranteed)
Negril is a tourist-town, so there'll be a few of the *regular* shows, events, at the usual places, as you've probably read in some other threads
but there's a "BIG-BUT." that you'll want to keep in mind::>> it's s-l-o-w season. So, quite a few *regular* things probably ain't going on. In fact, even quite a few of the regular-eateries are probably close.
All that said, you-(all) will have a good time, especially if this is a 'first' trip, 'cause you won't miss what you never knew existed (normally).
oh
oh:::>> before i forget::>> be SURE to pack an umbrella & some golashes
got a question for you..?? --- have you ever experienced a hurricane or one of those wicked tropical storm...??..
:-(
the odds are pretty good that there will be moisture (aka 'liquid sunshine', which is what they call *it* in the travel brochures).
me??..
i call it::>> pure mess
nevertheless, getting back to your original question(s)
This time of the year is not only slow-season, it's also '.Back-to-School-Mode.' Therefore, a LOT of the non-tourist parties, bashments, gatherings, etc. will be next to nil. Money is prioritized for school-stuff::: books, uniforms, fees, supplies, etc. This is a busy time..!!.. You won't notice it too much in Negril, but behind the scenes, in the back-of-the-house they're gonna be busy-busy running up & down, hither thither & non prep-ing for back to school issues.
i'm gonna be down there at time as you-all.
are you gonna have a party, with ice-cream & cake..??..
if so, i'd love to come.
i love ice-cream & cake::: especially if it's free
:-)
me personally, deliberately scheduled this trip for this slow-time.
i wanna chill & do NOTHING
less drama, too [[ fingers crossed ]]
ummmmmmmmmmmmmm
i wonder if those-folks who *work* the tourist are gonna crank-up there game, inorder to meet school-needs/responsibilities.
for me this is a non-issue
...'cause i'll just tell 'em, when they run their '.lyrics.'::::>> "...No...!!!... You've got the right string, mon,,, but the wrong yo-yo..."
* sigh *
we'll see
oh
oh
oh:::>> if there is ice-cream:::>> get rum raisen or grapenut, or both flavors
they both nice
cake..??.. ---- ummmmmmmmm
ask/check with your house-keeper and see if she knows where/how get a cake
Jamaican pastries are soooooooooo good
...they *different*:: usually heavy-er, but the sugar is soooo goood
........'twill bring tears to your eyes
...........make you wanna holler and throw up BOTH your hands
opps
sorry i typed so much
gotta run
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
now, WHERE is my pass-port..???..
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
be hapPpy
Smith,
"less drama" LOL
oh
one more likkle ting-y:::>> when you reach::>> keep your eyes peel, and check-out the signs you'll see posted on trees, light poles, in car window, etc. You might even see some big, and bigger placquards & billboards advertising an upcoming event (hopefully).
an aside::>> just the other day, the Ja-Minister of Tourisim told some Ja-business folks:::>> "..times are tough,,,, business islandwide is down down down.." [ paraphrased & my words/interpretion of his Ja-government-ese mumbo-jumbo ]
again::>> bottom-line::>> you'll have a good time
don't walk too-close to the road-edge/traffic
be hapPpy
ah oh this is not our first trip..but first time staying in Negril. I hope the rain is 10 or 15 minutes as usual. We are bringing a few school supplies down to donate to one of the local schools. no cake and ice cream, we will do that when we get back home....

ummmmmmmmm
so,
no icecream & cake eh
another option:::>> get somebody(s) to kill & butcher & cook one of those cute-cute Ja-goats
..they taste soooooooo good
yummy yummy
NOTHING like some freshly killed meat (e.g., goat, cow, chicken, fish, whatever)
gotta have goat for a Jamaican party
can you get fresh-killed goat meat '.back-home.' ... ??
you'd be amazed at all the dishes that can be made with that dead-goat
..the skin could/would make a fantastic cap or vest for those chilly Winters back-home there in-foreign

Why does it sound as if your patronizing her?? ... Be Happy
Manda81, it is just the way Smith types/writes.
Stick around the board and you will understand his way of thinking.
Trust me, he is a welcome addition to the board.
What you must do is read between the lines and the truth will appear.
Be happy.
