I was going to say Seastar but they poster said they wanted the beach.
If I was going with a couple of friends I'd book the Seastar apartment and be safe, cared for, and catered too.

What about the 2 room suites at cocolapalm? They aren't pricey (within your budget). We stayed in those with another couple our first stay at coco. They are in the older section, so nothing fancy, but worked well for us.
hey big frank, I think anyone that has ever stayed at seastar knows what you're talking about. it's my favorite place in Negril.
Does the seastar have any apt's with 2 bdrm or are they all single rooms?
What time does their shuttle run?

Go to their web site and check out room 10. It's the apartment, but it's in high demand so check the dates available.
They also have budget rooms you could add to the apt and still come in under your budget.
Have stayed at Coco Lapalm and am going back there this year with 8 of my closest girlfriends in March......but seriously, they have the BEST piece of beach, are centrally located and have great, clean rooms and come with a continental breakfast. You will not be disappointed! IMO

I would recommend Treehouse and Coco in a heartbeat.. But not for 3 single guys! Get yourself to Seastar ASAP!! They will get you to the beach and provide a safe comfortable retreat. If you open your trip at their sat nite bash you will meet all sorts of people. Good times
Okay, Dash? What are you saying? lol
The wild partiers stay at Seastar? The women are prettier at Seastar? The bar scene is more social there?
Cause you're kinda makin me want to stay there. :-)

(Please dont take offense boardies that may read this a negative way...)
Personal, if I wanted to be around a bunch of experienced North America's, way up on the cliffs, waiting around for a shuttle to take me to the beach, then Sea Star is an awesome hotel. Beautiful gardens, tranquil vibes, can't say about the food but the drinks are good....
If I wanted to be around a variety of vacationers, right on the famous Negril Beach, in the center of a lot of activity, with easy, cheap local taxi fare to take me anywhere... to Sea Star perhaps....then a hotel on the beach would be the way to go...IMO.
