Okay, Dash? What are you saying? lol
The wild partiers stay at Seastar? The women are prettier at Seastar? The bar scene is more social there?
Cause you're kinda makin me want to stay there. :-)

"There's a land not so far away/Where the sun keep shinning all through the day/And this land that we all love/God gave us the wood and the water/Blessed by the moon and stars above/Sweet, sweet Jamaica/Beautiful Jamaica/Everyday feels like a holiday/Sweet reggae music playing/From Negril to Morant Bay/Sweet, sweet Jamaica/Oh Jamaica/Irie, irie, irie Jamaica/Sweet Jamaica our land we love"

Personal, if I wanted to be around a bunch of experienced North America's, way up on the cliffs, waiting around for a shuttle to take me to the beach, then Sea Star is an awesome hotel. Beautiful gardens, tranquil vibes, can't say about the food but the drinks are good....
If I wanted to be around a variety of vacationers, right on the famous Negril Beach, in the center of a lot of activity, with easy, cheap local taxi fare to take me anywhere... to Sea Star perhaps....then a hotel on the beach would be the way to go...IMO.
I agree, I loved Seastar for going Solo or couples, but 3 guys on the beach is the way to go. Being where the action is and being on the Beach where things are happening is the way to go.
I don't think that I would go with Seastar either. Coco La Palm, White Sands, Kuyaba...definitely stay on the beach. I know there are a lot of Seastar lovers on this board, but went for a buffet and music and it wasn't my thing.
40+ seastar sounds great

Well said ... callme2 ......
We did the split a few years back ...
& (although they have a shuttle ) ...
miss walking out our room right onto THE BEACH ...
Try Mom's Place or Barry's ...
save your $$$ for important things...
like RED STRIPE
Great!! Now I'm more confused than ever....lol . Every time I lean towards trying the Seastar Inn someone talks me into staying on the beach side. " FOR REAL "
though thanks to all for the input, very helpful & gave me a few (new) things to think about. Either way it will be a delight to be back in Negril!!!
I don't come all the way to Jamaica to not be able to walk a few feet at at least see the Sea, just sayin'.
hell i'm almost 60 and want to at least WATCH the action on the beach, and i love being able to walk and eat --- or lounge and eat
now if i was just trying to find a clean place to flop and i was 3 single men --- i'd book that double wide right in front at Jahb's walk through Roots Bamboo - about $35 per night - bathroom - restaurant - cross the street --- BAM - beach
MAYBE if i had a sweetie i'd stay on the cliffs . . . for now i visit the cliffs for food lol
